Rodriguez Wins Roller Coaster Hand

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

With just 1,300 in the pot on the {a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{8-Spades} flop, a series of raises resulted in Juancho Rodriguez getting all in with {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts} against the {9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} held by an opponent. Rodriguez's opponent turned a flush as the {q-Diamonds} hit the board, but it was Rodriguez taking the pot with a boat as another queen, the {q-Spades} followed it.

Rhodes Gets Bazeley Out

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Jacob Bazeley opened for 450 in middle position and received calls from Brad Rhodes on the button and the player in the small blind. Bazeley's continuation-bet of 850 was called by just Rhodes on the {5-Hearts}{2-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop, and he bet another 2,250 on the {q-Spades} turn. Rhodes raised this time, to 5,125, and Bazeley let it go.

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante
Henry Tran
Henry Tran

Faced with a bet of 500 from the small blind, Henry Tran made a huge raise to 3,500 on the {k-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} board. The small blind called, then checked the {5-Spades} river. Tran switched gears with a tiny bet of 1,500, and the small blind chuckled as he called. Tran turned over {6-Spades}{6-Hearts} for a full house.

"Ohhh," the small blind said. "What a turn card."

We found Jeff Grimes tossing in a raise to 7,000 on a flop of {10-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} against an opponent who had put in about 2,000. Grimes' opponent called, and both players checked the {8-Diamonds} turn. A {2-Spades} completed the board, and Grimes bet 8,000.

"I guess your ten-nine is good," Grimes opponent said as he mucked.

Also, Nicholas Pupillo is in the tournament.

Chambers Shoves Early

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Dan Chambers checked a board of {q-Clubs}{8-Spades}{k-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} out of the big blind, and a player in middle position fired out 6,000. Chambers paused briefly before snagging all of his chips and dropping them into the middle, a raise of just 6,625 more. Despite the odds he was getting, Chambers' opponent let his hand go.

Also in the tournament is Brad Rhodes, who navigated to the final table a few weeks ago at Mid-States Poker Tour Majestic Star before falling in 10th.

On our second walk through the room we noticed a player who stands in the field as one of the most accomplished players here: Jacob Bazeley, an Ohio native with more than $1.6 million in live cashes. Bazeley snagged the biggest cash of his career this spring with $371,931 for a fourth-place finish at the Seminole Hard Rock Showdown in Hollywood, Fla. He's looking to add to that here just a few short hours from his hometown in Cincinnati.
