The Break

Level 28 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

It's time for a 10-minute break for the six players remaining in the 2015 Mid-States Poker Tour Canterbury Park Main Event.

Tyler Doubles

Level 28 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

In a level that has been free from confrontation, there finally was one moments ago.

Ryan Tyler got short and shoved the {2-Spades}{2-Clubs}.

Kirby Rogers called in the big blind with the {k-Spades}{8-Spades}, but the {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop gave Tyler a set. The set held on a {q-Clubs} turn and {6-Hearts} river, giving Tyler the much needed double.

Brian Berthiaume opened for 150,000 and Carl Carodenuto made it 300,000.

Dan Favreau called all in for 285,000 and Berthiaume called, before checking the {k-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop. Carodenuto fired another 150,000 and Berthiaume let it go.

Carodenuto showed the {a-Spades}{a-Hearts} and Favreau the {j-Hearts}{j-Spades}, exiting seventh when the {5-Hearts} turn and {5-Spades} river did not save him.

Vladimir Revniaga raised the button to 115,000 and Willie Olson shipped it in from the small blind.

It came back on Revniaga and he called it off with the {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}. Olson had the {10-Spades}{10-Hearts} and the bigger pair held on a {6-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{5-Spades} board.

Olson is now the overwhelming chip leader seven handed as Revniaga hits the rail.

Rich Alsup open shipped and Ryan Tyler came over the top all in for more. The rest folded and it was Alsup's {a-Hearts}{5-Spades} needing help versus Tyler's {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}.

Alsup did not get enough on the {A-Clubs}{k-Spades}{j-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} board and said goodbye ninth.

With Alsup's and DJ Buckley's eliminations, Mark Hodge is now officially the 2015 MSPT Player of the Year.

Carodenuto Doubles

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Dan Favreau opened to 85,000. Ryan Tyler and Carl Carodenuto both called and they went three ways to a {J-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} flop.

Carodenuto open shoved for close to 500,000 and only Tyler called. It was Tyler's {a-Spades}{j-Spades} top pair against the {9-Spades}{8-Clubs} open-ender for Carodenuto.

The {q-Clubs} completed Carodenuto's straight and he doubled up after the {4-Diamonds} river changed nothing.
