Adrianakos Takes the Last of Bohn's First Bullet

In a three-bet pot, {10-Hearts}{j-Spades}{8-Diamonds} flopped at the action table, once again involving Blake Bohn. Dimitrios Adrianakos bet 1,500 from the small blind, and Bohn shoved for about 12,000. After a fold or two, Adrianakos called the jam with {q-}{10-} for a pair and a gutter. Bohn had {9-}{8-}, for a smaller pair and an open-ended straight draw. Unfortunately for Bohn, he made two pair on the turn to give his opponent a straight, and the {4-Diamonds} didn't fill him up on the river.

Kodali Doubles Through Gonzales

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

We found Kiran Kodali jamming from the small blind for 23,500 against early-position opener Danny Gonzales, who made the call.

Gonzales: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Kodali: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}

The two were racing, and no danger materialized for Gonzales on the {4-Spades}{k-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop. The {9-Spades} turn brought a flush draw for Kodali though, and the river {q-Diamonds} gave him a winning pair, costing Gonzales a chance to rocket up to nearly three times the starting stack in the first two levels.

On a {6-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{9-Hearts} flop, Blake Bohn saw his 700 bet in the small blind raised to 2,100 by local player Danny Gonzales. Bohn responded with a reraise, and the two got it all in, with Gonzales flipping {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} for top set.

"Nice hand," Bohn said with a chuckle. "Bottom two."

His {9-Clubs}{6-Spades} was drawing nearly dead, and he wasn't able to backdoor quads. He sent 29,300 to his left.

Bohn Unfazed by Check-Raise

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Multiple raises went in before the flop between Blake Bohn, who was under the gun, and a player in the small blind. Bohn bet 4,300 on an {8-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop after his opponent checked, and the player took awhile before sliding out what looked like 8,300. Bohn immediately announced he was all in, and the dealer quickly corrected the bet to 8,600. The small blind then folded.

The Mid-States Poker Tour is back at one of the biggest stops of the tour, Golden Gates Casino in Black Hawk, Colo. just outside of Denver. Last time the tour came through, it drew a monstrous 500-player field, which resulted in a huge win for local player Reza Yazdi. He claimed a $120,765 first-place prize.

One of the few stops with three Day 1s, another large field is expected when play kicks off at noon local time. The Allen "Chainsaw" Kessler-designed structure will once again be in use, with an expanded 30,000 in starting chips and 40-minute levels. Players get a 10-minute break every three levels, and the plan is to play 14 levels, with surviving players bagging up and returning for Day 2 on Sunday.

PokerNews will be on hand providing live updates throughout the tournament.
