Bekavac Makes Moves

Action started on the turn on a heads-up pot with about 20,000 in the middle. The board was paired and showed {4-Spades}{q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}.

Dan Bekavac was in position against his only opponent and bet 10,500. His opponent thought for a while before letting his cards go.

"I'll show PokerNews", said Bekavac, and shared {j-Clubs}{6-Clubs} with only the reporter for the stone-cold bluff.

"If it's a bluff, don't put my name on it," said....his unnamed opponent.

'How could I bluff a guy who's so strong and leads into me? Just quads," said Bekavac.

"Now I have to look," said a tablemate.

Hackney Bets Until He Wins

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Action started on the turn with two players looking at a board of {q-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{9-Spades} and about 10,000 in the pot.

The payer under the gun checked to Dale Hackney, who made a bet of 5,500. After some thought his opponent made the call.

The {a-Hearts} completed the board and the out-of-position played checked again. Hackney made the river only slightly more than the previous street when he bet 6,500. After some thought, his opponent laid it down and Hackney took the pot.

Quinn Makes Quads, Sinks a Boat

Level 5 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante
Shawn Quinn
Shawn Quinn

Details of the following hand were shared by Shawn Quinn and members of his table.

Quinn saw his opponent limp preflop and he raised it up, which his opponent called.

The flop came {k-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{q-Hearts}, Quinn put out a bet and was called once again.

Both players checked when the {q-Diamonds} hit the turn.

The river fell the {9-Hearts}. Both players traded raises until all the chips were in the middle.

Quinn turned over {q-Clubs}{q-Spades} for quads, his opponent showed the unexpected {k-Hearts}{k-Spades} for the slowplayed kings that turned into top full house.

"Where's my bad beat?" asked the stunned opponent.

Hagopian Takes One Down

Level 5 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

A player under the gun limped before Joe Barnard raised to 2,000 from middle position. In the small blind, Brett Hagopian called, and the limper folded.

Heads up, Hagopian and Barnard saw the flop of {4-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}. Both players declined to bet and took it to a turn.

The {a-Diamonds} hit the board and Hagopian led for 3,200. Barnard didn't think long before releasing his cards and Hagopian took down the pot.

Mangold Strikes Gold on the River

Level 5 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante
Jason Mangold

Action picked up on the river with nearly 20,000 in the pot. The full board was laid out and showed {5-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{q-Clubs}.

Jason Mangold had position on his opponent, and watched him bet 5,000. Mangold moved all in for about 14,000 effective, which sent his opponent deep into an existential tank.

"I can beat three queens. But you got to be full. I can't beat you," his opponent went on thinking out loud. While doing so, he showed his {j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} face up, revealing the turned straight. "Rebuy time? I might get sticky," he said.

Eventually, he did decide on a call.

"You can't fold, but I got you beat," said Mangold, as he showed {a-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for the flush.

"How can you do that on a paired board?" asked his frustrated and recently stacked opponent.

"Because of your stack size," said Mangold as he raked the pot.
