Cimino Makes the Nuts and Stacks Two Players

Level 14 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
John Cimino
John Cimino

Action picked up with three players getting all their chips in the middle preflop. John Cimino was battling it out with two short stacks heading to a runout for a pot of about 50,000.

Opponent: {a-}{q-}
Opponent: {5-}{5-}
John Cimino: {k-}{10-}

It was a huge flop for all three players when the {q-}{j-}{5-} came out. Top pair versus bottom set versus an open-ender to a turn, Cimino drilled the {9-} for the straight on the turn. The river {2-} gave him the win and sent two to the rail.

Holloway Runs Into Estes, Headed Out Into the Sunset

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante
Chad Holloway
Chad Holloway

Chad Holloway was working a short stack on the button and decided to move in for 40,000, about 13 big blinds. The small blind folded, but big-stacked Mike Estes made the call in the big blind.

Chad Holloway: {9-Hearts}{6-Hearts}
Mike Estes: {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

"Two live cards, that's all I can ask for," said Holloway.

Holloway found a good flop on the {9-Spades}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs} board. The turn was safe too, the {q-Clubs}. The river was a dagger, though, when the {a-Spades} fell to felt "Disco" Chad.

He'll get an early start moving out West to Las Vegas after a good night's sleep tonight.

Hanson's Aces Dodge a Big Draw

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante

Action began on the turn in a heads-up pot. Sam Hanson was all in for 52,000 into a pot of about 70,000 with a board showing {10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}. His opponent had him covered.

His opponent thought for a while on the button, but decided to put the chips in with a big hand.

Sam Hanson: {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}
Opponent: {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}

Hanson needed to dodge a bunch of outs. "Black four," he called out.

It was the {6-Clubs} on the river that secured his double.

Hanson was down to about 10,000 just a couple of hours ago, but has spun it back up to one of the bigger stacks around the room.

Olson II Wins the Race

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante

An early-position player raised to 7,000 and picked up a caller before a player in middle position moved all in for 72,000. Gary Olson II thought for a bit and decided to make the call. The rest of the table folded and the two were off to a race.

Opponent: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Gary Olson II: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}

"Please, let me win a race," said the all-in player.

He did not. The board ran out {a-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{j-Spades}{8-Hearts}{6-Spades} and Olson II took down the large pot to shoot up the leaderboard.

Venhaus Doubles Through Trost

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

A middle-position player opened for 5,500 before Craig Trost three-bet to 16,500. Kevin Venhaus cold-called in late position, the original raiser folded.

A flop of {8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{10-Diamonds} showed up and Trost looked at Venhaus' stack, it had about 34,000. Trost moved enough in the middle to cover him.

"All in? I call," said Venhaus, who was at risk.

Kevin Venhaus: {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}
Craig Trost: {a-Spades}{10-Spades}

Trost was drawing thin against the set, Venhaus held on the {k-Hearts}{4-Clubs} runout.

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

Chad Holloway: {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Dennis Stevermer: {9-}{9-}

Holloway couldn't find an ace or jack on the board, but he did find four clubs to give him the flush and much-needed double.

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

Copeland thought for a bit before sliding out a stack of chips that totaled 36,500. Carpenter gave it some thought, but he let his cards go and Copeland took down the preflop pot.
