All the Money is up for Grabs on Day 2 of the HK $250,000 6-Max

The 2017 Triton Super High Roller Series Macau continues this afternoon and will crown the first champion in Asia’s largest gaming destination later today. There are still 50 players in the hunt but late-registration and unlimited re-entry remain open until after the first level on Day 2.

The action kicks off at 1 PM local time at the Galaxy Macau Hotel in Taipa, Macau, which is hosting the top players in the world over the next week as the Triton Super High Roller Series sets foot on Macau soil for the first time.

The HK $250,000 6-Max has drawn 70 entries through Day 1 already smashing the previous record of 43 entries set in Manila earlier this year. The next stop was Montenegro a few months ago which attracted 41 entries so the possibility of crushing both of those numbers combined is still in the air.

The defending champion Fedor Holz has yet to make an appearance along with the likes of Erik Seidel, John Juanda, Daniel Cates, Lauren Roberts, Paul Newey and Tom Dwan. Though, some of those faces have been seen in the area.

Bringing the chip lead into Day 2 is American pro Ben Lamb. Lamb mustered an impressive stack of 184,300 to claim the top spot on Day 1. Lamb has a sizeable lead over the field, his closest competitor, Stephen Chidwick, required a second bullet but ran it up to a second place position bagging 129,300.

Michael Addamo sits in third place with a stack of 128,900 while Christoph Vogelsang (124,500), Mikita Badziakouski (116,400), Steffen Sontheimer (114,800), Kahle Burns (113,800), Dietrich Fast (112,800), Mike Watson (110,300), and Timofey Kuznetsov (110,000) round out the top ten.

O'Dwyer Flops Huge

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Steve O'Dwyer
Steve O'Dwyer

Chipleader Christoph Vogelsang had both Mikita Badziakouski and Steve O'Dwyer all-in and at risk preflop.

Vogelsang: {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}
O'Dwyer: {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}
Badziakouski: {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

Vogelsang was in great shape to score a big pot but a six on a {7-Spades}{a-Clubs}{6-Clubs} flop gave O'Dwyer the lead. The {5-Clubs} on the turn gave Vogelsang outs to a flush but the {q-Hearts} on the river gave both pots to O'Dwyer.

Vogelsang was forced to match O'Dwyer's stack worth 87,000 while Badziakouski had much less.

Burns Busts Bluffing to a Boat

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Daniel Dvoress
Daniel Dvoress

A rather steamed Kahle Burns quickly left the tournament floor as his chips were pushed towards Daniel Dvoress in the largest pot of the event thus far.

According to Dvoress, he opened and Burns called out of the big blind. The flop came {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} and Burns check-called a bet from Dvoress. The {3-Diamonds} fell on the turn and Burns check-raised a bet which Dvoress flatted.

The {6-Hearts} completed the board on the river and Burns jammed for about 130,000. Dvoress snap-called tabling {a-}{3-} and Burns was left with nothing, mucking {6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}.

Dvoress is now a huge chipleader.

Dan Smith

Dan Smith opened to 12,000 on the button and called a three-bet jam of 72,500 from Christian Christner in the big blind.

Christner: {q-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}
Smith: {3-Spades}{3-Hearts}

Christner was racing for his tournament life and found an ace on the {8-Spades}{a-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} flop. The {6-Clubs} on the turn left him one card away from a double but the {3-Diamonds} on the river gave Smith a full house and it spelled the end for Christner.

The board ran out {q-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{a-Clubs} and Watson's flopped set of queens was best, eliminating Sammartino on the direct money bubble.

After losing the vast majority of his chips doubling up a tablemate, Stanley Choi was able to climb three rungs on the ladder before falling in ninth place.

Choi was left with just a couple big blinds and got it in with {q-Hearts}{6-Hearts} against {a-Spades}{5-Clubs}, failing to outdraw his opponent on a {7-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{9-Spades}{6-Spades}{j-Hearts} board.
