Katz Folds to Third Shell

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

In a blind-versus-blind contest, Cary Katz and Kok Weng Beh made it to the flop of {6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{7-Spades}. It looked to be a good flop for Katz' hand as he held {9-Spades}{7-Diamonds} but Beh had him crushed, having flopped the nuts with {9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}.

Katz check-called 3,000 and then check-called another 4,000 on the {6-Spades} turn. The river fell {K-Diamonds} and Katz checked one more time. Beh tossed in 10,000 and Katz quickly laid his hand down, saving himself the final shell.

Three-Bet Pot for Juanda

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Sergio Aido made it 3,500 in the cutoff and John Juanda eyed Aido's stack. Then he fired 10,600 on the button and Aido called to see the {2-Spades}{3-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop. Aido checked and Juanda took it down with what looked like a bet of 6,900.

Shortly after that, Nick Schulman walked to the neighboring table with a paper slip in his hand, firing his second bullet after he failed to make it through Day 1.

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
David Peters
David Peters

Phil Ivey opened to 3,500 with {9-Spades}{8-Spades} on the button. David Peters was in the small blind and he three-bet to 12,500 holding {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}. JC Alvarado was in the big blind with {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} and he called. Ivey called as well making three-way action.

The flop was {3-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{6-Hearts} and Peters led out with a bet of 13,000. Alvarado folded quickly. Ivey shifted in his seat a bit, then folded as well.

Leow Doubles Through Peters

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

David Peters opened with a raise to 3,500 and Ivan Leow three-bet to 15,000 from the small blind. Action was back on Peters in the cutoff and he moved all in with a covering stack for about 30,000 more effective. Leow tanked for a while then called.

Ivan Leow: {A-Clubs}{10-Spades}
David Peters: {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}

The board ran out {10-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and Leow would make a pair of tens to double up to 91,800 while Peters was left with around 150,000.

Kenney Ousted by Katz

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Bryn Kenney
Bryn Kenney

Bryn Kenney got his last 12,800 into the middle when he peeled {A-Clubs}{8-Clubs} in the small blind. Unfortunately for him, Cary Katz had the {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} in the cutoff. Kenney's inferior kicker couldn't catch up on the board of {Q-Spades}{9-Clubs}{3-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} and Katz took the rest of his chip, climbing to 70,000.

Schulman Comes and Goes

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Steve O'Dwyer was on the button, Nick Schulman in the big blind and the chips got in preflop in what was presumably O'Dwyer's open-raise and Schulman's three-bet shove for about 45,000.

Schulman: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}
O'Dwyer: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

The board ran out {3-Hearts}{4-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Spades}, giving no help to Schulman whose re-entry bullet lasted only a few minutes.

JC Alvarado
JC Alvarado

Sam Greenwood raised to 4,000 on the button and JC Alvarado called in the big blind.

The flop came down {8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} and Alvarado checked to Greenwood. Greenwood put out a bet of 8,000. Alvarado thought for a bit then check-raised, making it 20,000. Greenwood moved all in and Alvarado called bringing the two players to a showdown.

JC Alvarado: {8-Hearts}{6-Spades}
Sam Greenwood: {5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}

The turn was the {K-Clubs} and the river was the {10-Hearts} and Alvarado would hold to double up to 216,000 while Greenwood was left with 96,000.

Luc Greenwood Falls to Peters

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Luc Greenwood
Luc Greenwood

David Peters made it 5,000 in the first position on a four-handed table and James Chen flatted on the button. Luc Greenwood found a good spot to squeeze-shove around 34,000 out of the small blind, but Peters had it.

Greenwood: {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}
Peters: {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}

Greenwood's hand trailed and the {6-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Spades} flop was safe for Peters. Greenwood caught two extra outs on the {J-Diamonds} turn but the {3-Spades} river eliminated him. Greenwood fired a new bullet and rejoined the field with 50,000.
