Today was the first day of event #6 of the World Cup of Cards, The All-Stars for Starlight CAD $160 No Limit Hold em tournament.

There were 136 players in the field and Daniel Le bagged the chip lead (247,500) with 29 moving forward to Day 2. The All-Stars for Starlight tournament is a four-starting flight tournament with a CAD $100,000 guarantee with a morning and evening flight today and tomorrow before Day 2 Sunday.

Le shot to the chip lead very fast, adding around 200,000 chips to his stack in just about 15 minutes. He had better luck than Michael Bakeman, who held the chip lead during the middle part of the day, but was eliminated by Eric Shapiro (99,500) during the final hour of play.

Fraser Swidler (169,500), Robert Dagenais (168,000), Sameul Chaput (155,500), and Jason Bulman (129,000) round out the top five stacks heading to Day 2. The next flight is just getting under way and the remaining two flights will be tomorrow at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Robert Dagenais Bets the Flop

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Robert Dagenais
Robert Dagenais

Robert Dagenais is over 100,000 and just took down a pot with little to no resistance from his table mates.

Dagenais limped from middle position and Arold Nozieux raised to 4,000. The next two players called, the big blind called, and Dagenais called.

The flop came {k-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{3-Clubs} and Daniel Le checked from the big blind. Dagenais bet 8,000 and everyone folded, giving Dagenais the uncontested pot.
