Didier Have It?

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

Sebastien Didier opened the actionfrom early position, as he has been prone to do, and faced a three-bet. Didier was the only caller and they went to a heads-up flop of {6-Hearts}{3-Spades}{9-Spades}.

Didier checked and his opponent bet 4,000 before looking back at his cards. Didier, watching like a hawk, sprang the check-raise to 8,300 the pot was not his yet as his opponent made the call.

The turn card {7-Spades} brought in the flush draw but was checked around. The river card {7-Hearts} then paired the board and Didier led out for 15,000. His opponent had 22,500 remaining and thought for a good long while before eventually giving it up.

Didier’s neighbour asked him what he had but a chuckle and a shrug was the only response although he did seem to indicate it was a bluff.

Diaz In the Driving Seat

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

Gilbert Diaz opened the action for 1,400 from under the gun, picked up one caller and then faced a three-bet to 3,800. Diaz made the call as did the other player.

The flop was {2-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{8-Spades} and Diaz splashed out a bet of 4,000. That got called in one spot with the three-bettor sighing and letting his hand go.

The turn card was the {6-Clubs} and Diaz asked to see how much his opponent had behind. It was a paltry 2,500 so he threw that much in. As his opponent thought it over Diaz chuckled and motioned as if his hands were on a steering wheel. Whatever the meaning of the message his opponent made the fold and saved his chips.

Diaz showed the table his {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}.

Le Baron Winged

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

Sebastien Le Baron has taken a few shots to his chip stack in the last few hours and this hand certainly didn’t help.

With an open to 1,500 from under-the-gun player Mario Vanackeren, Le Baron called as did three other players. The flop came down {k-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} and when Vanackren continued for 6,000 Le Baron was the sole caller. The turn was the {q-Spades} and a check from Vanackeren prompted a 9,800 bet from Le Baron. Vanackeren responded by moving all in for 42,000
Le Baron went in le tank. Eventually he asked if Vanackeren would show if he folded. Vanackeren responded that he had already shown another player earlier but that he would allow him to pick one card. Le Baron folded {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs} face up and then picked the {q-Hearts} from Vanackeren’s hand.

After a brief discussion it was established that Vanackeren had {q-Hearts}{j-} and Le Baron had folded the best hand but Vanackeren went through his thought process and the combination of hands he could have had as the under-the –gun raiser meaning Le Baron was forced to fold to the shove. Le Barom listened but looked pained.

At the far end of the table PMU poker player Laurence Humler looks to have grabbed a few of the chips flying around this particular table having waited patiently for openings most of the day with no much coming her way until recently.

Didier Loses A Few Chips

Level 7 : 250/500, 75 ante

Sebastien Didier has lost a little bit of traction of late. He just lost a pot where he called a 2,800 bet in position on the turn of a board reading {9-Hearts}{a-Spades}{2-Clubs}{7-Spades}. When the river {q-Spades} completed the board and it was checked to him he bet 4,200 and got called turning over his {10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}. Didier’s pair lost out to the {5-Spades}{3-Spades} flush of his opponent.

On the next hand he was involved in a three-way pot and flatted a 1,300 bet on the flop of {6-Spades}{10-Spades}{k-Clubs}. The player after him though moved all in for 7,400 and took the pot down.

A minor setback for Didier, but a setback nonetheless.
