Luca Moschitta Eliminated in 7th Place (£32,000)

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Luca Moschitta
Luca Moschitta

Matas Cimbolas raised to 50,000 preflop and Luca Moschitta moved all in for about 450,000. The Lithuanian got a count, and, seemingly satisfied, made the call.

Cimbolas: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}
Moschitta: {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}

The flop was good for the Italian coming {4-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{9-Spades} but the {Q-Spades} on the turn left him drawing to just two outs. The river was the {A-Hearts} giving Cimbolas two pair and the pot.

With just eight minutes left in the level, the final table has been reached. Full chip counts, table draw and a recap to follow.

Matas Cimbolas Leads the WPT Nottingham Final Table

After a relatively short day here at the 2014 partypoker World Poker Tour United Kingdom Main Event in Nottingham, Matas Cimbolas will go into Sunday's final table as the chip leader after winning a couple of big pots against Luca Moschitta and eliminating the Italian at the end of the day to secure the top spot.

Just 16 players returned for the penultimate day of this event, each guaranteed a minimum of £10,200. Charlie Combes was the first player knocked out when he four-bet shoved with deuces, but was defeated by Phillip Mighall's ace-seven when the latter flopped a seven. Ben Vinson had come back as one of the bigger stacks of the day, but he went out in 13th place during a hand that also saw short-stacked Italian Stefano Garbarino knocked out.

Former chip leader of Day 1a and Day 2 — a man who also won the 2013 World Series of Poker Main Event — Adrian Mateos was knocked out in 11th place. He lost with the {K-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} to Sylvain Loosli's {A-Diamonds}{5-Spades}, then his last few chips went in with the {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} against the Frenchman's {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}, but the board ran out {A-Spades}{10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}.

Loosli himself would bust out in 10th place, pushing the {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} into Mighall's {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}, and that sent all the players to just one table. It would then take over two hours before another player was knocked out, with Najib Kamand losing a flip to Moschitta. Ben Warrington then knocked out Jamie Roberts with the {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades} against the {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs} on a {Q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{J-Hearts} board to put the field on the final table bubble.

A crucial hand saw Cimbolas crippled Moschitta when he flopped a straight and rivered a flush against the Italian's aces. A hand later, Moschitta found kings against Cimbolas' queen-jack to give him some hope, but the two would continue to tangle.

Finally, Moschitta was dispatched in seventh place when he shoved for his final 450,000 with the {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}. Cimbolas called with the {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} and won the race on the {4-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{9-Spades}{Q-Spades}{A-Hearts} board. Moschitta left with £32,000 for his troubles, and the remaining six players bagged up their stacks for the night.

With blinds 12,000/24,000 and a 4,000 ante for another eight minutes, this leaves the final table looking in the following order:

SeatNameChip Count
1Tamer Kamel1,844,000
2Patrick Leonard836,000
3Ben Warrington2,616,000
4Phillip Mighall710,000
5Antoine Saout1,086,000
6Matas Cimbolas3,534,000

The final table will start at 2 p.m. GMT on Sunday. It'll also be featured on a live stream with hole cards face up, and that live stream will run on a 15-minute delay. Combine that with all the PokerNews live updates you can handle, and this final table will be covered from all angles.
