Who Will be Crowned Champion of the 2015 bwin.be WPT National Brussels?

Kyne Elmouloua Leads Final 21 in Brussels
Kyne Elmouloua Leads Final 21 in Brussels

The final day of the €1,100 + €100 bwin.be World Poker Tour National Brussels Main Event has come and the action will resume in one hour from now on, at 2 p.m. local time. After two starting days and Day 2, the 391-entry strong field has been reduced to its last 21 participants, who will battle at the tables of the Grand Casino Brussels Viage for the WPT National champion's title, winner trophy and first-place payout of €88,000.

Leading the contenders is Kyne Elmouloua with 1,094,000 in chips, followed by Day 1a chip leader Mike Gerry (952,000) and Julien Duveau (855,000). Jean Marie Vandeborne (561,000) and Heinrich Pauker (546,000) are right around average when level 23 kicks in at blinds 10,000-20,000 with a running ante of 3,000.

PMU Pro and French poker player of the year 2014 Erwann Pecheux (506,000) as well as Miroslav Alilovic (357,000) and Stephen Woodhead (275,000) are other notables still in it to win it.

There are three seven-handed tables at the restart and the action will be nine-handed for the official final table. The level duration is 60 minutes each, during heads-up stage this will however be reduced to 30 minutes as per WPT rules.

Furthermore, Day 2 of the €2,000 + €200 High Roller gets underway at 4 p.m. with 29 players out of 82 entries remaining. Late registration and single re-entry is possible until the cards are back in the air.

Mathieu Alciato Eliminated in 21st Place (€3,920)

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Mathieu Alciato - 21st place
Mathieu Alciato - 21st place

The action folded to Mathieu Alciato on the button and he moved all in only to see Mike Gerry snap-call out of the big blinds. It was the {7-Spades} {5-Hearts} for the Frenchman and the {A-Spades} {9-Spades} for Gerry. The board ran out {J-Spades} {4-Spades} {J-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} {6-Spades} to give Gerry a flush and Alciato headed to the payout desk.

Stephen Woodhead Eliminated in 20th Place (€3,920)

Stephen Woodhead - 20th place
Stephen Woodhead - 20th place

Stephen Woodhead open-shoved his short stack and Julien Duveai just flat-called in late position, no other player was willing to call though.

Woodhead: {A-Diamonds} {K-Clubs}
Duveau: {8-Hearts} {8-Clubs}

It was all over after a flop of {3-Hearts} {9-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} and Woodhead already left his chair, waving good bye. The meaningless {2-Hearts} turn and {K-Spades} river completed the board and the Brit is the second player to be knocked out early on Day 3.

Simon Steinberg Eliminated in 19th Place (€3,920)

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Simon Steinberg - 19th place
Simon Steinberg - 19th place

In a previous hand, Simon Steinberg had folded to the aggression of Heinrich Pauker and now shoved all in from the cutoff for less than seven big blinds. Nicolas Nicolopoulos made the call in the big blind with {A-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} and Steinberg was looking for fives or kings with his {K-Clubs} {5-Hearts}.

The {6-Hearts} {A-Spades} {A-Clubs} flop left the Israeli drawing dead before the {A-Hearts} turn was an overkill, giving Nicolopoulos quads to add to the misery. The meaningless {J-Diamonds} river was just a formality and the remaining 18 players are now drawn onto the final two tables.

Joining the action on the {Q-Diamonds} {K-Spades} {10-Clubs} {J-Clubs} turn, Mike Gerry bet for what looked like 60,000 and Christian van der Haegen called to see the {5-Spades} on the river.

Gerry fired another bet worth 150,000 and van der Haegen suddenly moved all in to get snap-called. Once Gerry flipped over his {A-Clubs} {K-Clubs}, everyone on the table expected a split pot.

Then gasps appeared, as van der Haegen revealed his {Q-Hearts} {J-Hearts} and was eliminated in 18th place for €4,460.

Omar Dahmani raised from early position and called all in for 325,000 when Miroslav Alilovic had pushed out of the small blind. Dahmani was covered but held the better hand in {A-Hearts} {K-Diamonds}. Alilovic's {A-Diamonds} {J-Spades} improved on the turn of a {2-Hearts} {8-Clubs} {7-Spades} {J-Clubs} {7-Hearts} board. Dahmani wasn't too happy about the outcome but wished everyone good luck before heading to the payout desk.

Nicolas Nicolopoulos - 16th place

Heinrich Pauker raised to 53,000 and was called by Nicolas Nicolopoulos in the cutoff as well as Erwann Pecheux in the big blind. On the {3-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} {8-Clubs} flop, Pecheux check-folded and Pauker continued with a bet of 67,000. Nicolopoulos moved all in for 310,000 and Pauker eventually tank-called.

Pauker: {A-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds}
Nicolopoulos: {9-Hearts} {9-Diamonds}

The {Q-Diamonds} turn left the Belgian drawing dead and a meaningless {2-Hearts} river completed the board.

Kamel Djemai - 15th place
Kamel Djemai - 15th place

Kamel Djemai raised from early position and Mohamed Mamouni just flat-called out of the big blind. After a flop of {J-Spades} {7-Spades} {4-Clubs}, Mamouni check-raised all in and Djemai, who made a continuation bet of 90,000 and started the hand with around 400,000 chips, called off.

Mamouni: {A-Hearts} {J-Clubs}
Djemai: {K-Hearts} {J-Diamonds}

Neither the {9-Diamonds} turn nor {8-Hearts} river changed anything and Djemai took his belongings before heading to the payout desk.

Jozsef Szabo min-raised to 60,000 from under the gun and short stack Kyne Elmouloua moved all in from one seat over. The action went back to Szabo and he seemingly had a hard decision to make before eventually announcing the call.

Szabo: {A-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds}
Elmouloua: {K-Hearts} {J-Spades}

The board ran out {3-Hearts} {9-Hearts} {9-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} {2-Hearts} and the start-of-the-day chip leader had to settle for 14th place and a payday of €5,210.

The action folded to Florian Ravier moved all in for 475,000 chips. From one seat over, Miroslav Alilovic moved all in as well for close to 1 million in chips and that got everyone else out of the way.

Ravier: {Q-Spades} {10-Spades}
Alilovic: {A-Diamonds} {A-Clubs}

There was no sweat on a board of {K-Spades} {8-Clubs} {6-Hearts} {4-Clubs} {4-Hearts}, as Ravier was drawing dead on the turn already. He receives €5,210 for his efforts and Alilovic joins the chip leaders.
