Joe Tehan Down to 2,500

All players folded to Joe Tehan on the button who opened for a raise to 525. The small blind got out of his way, but the big blind re-raised Joe 1,000 more. Tehan called, and the flop came {7-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}. Both players checked. The turn brought the {Q-Hearts} and after his opponent checked to him again, Joe decided to bet 1,850. After thinking for about two minutes, the other player called. The river card was the {10-Spades}. Joe's lone opponent checked again, and Joe bet 2,500, half of his remaining chips. Unfortunately for Tehan, his opponent called with just enough to beat Joe's ace-jack high -- he called with ace-king high!

Tehan, Out.

Down to his last 1,775 in chips, Joe Tehan moved all in with {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} as the first player in the pot from late position. The remaining players quickly folded to the big blind, and after a few seconds of deliberation he decided to call with {A-Clubs}{2-Clubs}, announcing that he just had an ace. Joe was unable to catch a piece of the board and was subsequently eliminated from the tournament.

Lawson Chipping Up

Ted Lawson, a tournament pro who won a preliminary event here at Caesars earlier this week, is off to a good start this afternoon and currently sits with over 15,000 in chips.

In a recent pot against fellow pros Mark Newhouse and Theo Tran, action was checked to Lawson in late position who bet 1,500 on a {6-Hearts}{8-Spades}{10-Hearts} board. Newhouse tossed his hand into the muck and Tran made the call.

The {A-Hearts} fell off on the turn and slowed both players down, as both checked, opting for a free river card - the {Q-Hearts}. Once more, both players knuckled the felt and Lawson tabled a pocket pair of kings which were good enough to rake the 5,000 pot.

Fireworks On The Flop For Feldman

With four players involved on a flop of {5-Clubs}{4-Spades}{7-Clubs}, the small blind made a bet of 600 that was enough for the big blind and a player in late position to bow out before being raised by Peter Feldman from the cutoff. The player in the small blind then re-raised 5,000 more which prompted Feldman to shove all in. After a brief pause, the all-in was called and Feldman showed his opponent the grim news as he turned over {3-Spades}{6-Spades} for a straight. The player, grimacing as he revealed his {5-Spades}{5-Hearts}, saw no help on the turn as it came {2-Clubs}. The {K-Hearts} on the river sent the player to the rail as Feldman won a healthy-sized pot.
