Vahedi Puffs Life Into His Stack

After a raise of 600 from a player on the button, small blind Amir Vahedi came along with one other player to the flop. The flop came {Q-Spades}{9-Clubs}{9-Spades} and all players checked, prompting the dealer to burn and turn the {A-Diamonds}. Another series of checks introduced the {10-Spades} on the river. The action was checked around once more until the player on the button seized the opportunity to fire 2,000. The bet was called by Vahedi who revealed {J-Spades}{6-Spades} which was good for a flush, crushing his opponent's ace-king high.

Mark Seif Doubles Up!

One player limped in early position and Mark Seif raised to 1,000 in the cutoff seat with {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}. The limper was the only player to call Seif's raise, and the flop came {Q-Hearts}{7-Spades}{2-Spades}. Mark bet 2,000 and his only opponent check-raised him all in. He immediately called and was a dominating favorite against the other player's {A-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}. The turn and river came {5-Clubs}, {Q-Diamonds}, and Seif's hand held up to win a pot of 20,400.

And the Chip Leader is . . .

. . . Steve Wong! Wong called an opponent's all-in bet on a {J-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} board holding a mere {Q-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and the call proved to be a good one as his opponent revealed {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}. The pot hoisted Wong to the top of the leaderboard, as he now has over 50,000 in chips.

It's also worth mentioning that Wong is sitting at a very tough table with fellow pros Chau Giang, David Levi, David Benyamine, Dutch Boyd, Sorel Mizzi and Steve Billirakis.

Little, Out.

Jonathan Little
Jonathan Little
Jonathan Little has just been eliminated from the tournament after his pocket nines failed to hold up against an opponent's {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} in a pre-flop all-in confrontation.

The board ran out {4-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{A-Clubs} and an ace on the river sent Little to the rail late in the fourth level of play.
