Alan 'BodogAri' Engel was eliminated from the tournament immediately following the break after losing a coinflip to Nikolay Evdakov. Ari made it 40,000 to go before the flop holding pocket jacks and Nikolay Evdakov then re-raised all in, putting Engel to a decision for the remainder of his chips. Ari made the call and found himself up against Evdakov's .
The board panned out giving Nikolay two pair, aces and sevens, effectively eliminating Engel from the tournament in 27th place.
Chip leader at the start of the day, Max Reele has just lost the last of his chips to new top-dog Ben Fineman, finishing the day in 26th place. Action started off with a 9,000 raise from Adam Geyer who made it 9,000 to go from the cutoff. Max made the call from the button and the action then fell to Fineman in the small blind who kicked it up to 25,000. Both the big blind and Geyer stepped out of the way and when the action returned to Reele, he insta-shoved all in for about 80,000. Fineman snap-called, tabling and was slightly ahead of Reele's . A board of fell in favor of Fineman who raked in the pot, sending Reele to the rail in 26th place.
Max will take home $9,661 in prize money for his efforts. Meanwhile, Fineman assumed the top spot on the leaderboard with just over 360,000 in chips.
A short-stacked Tony Cousineau pushed all in pre-flop and was isolated by Blair Hinkle. The showdown revealed Cousineau holding vs. Hinkle's . The board filled out and saw Cousineau's pair bring him a few chips and keeping him alive.
With the button and the small blind limping, big blind Kelly Samson bumped the pre-flop betting up to 20,000. The bet was enough for Adam Geyer to fold from the button, but provoked an all-in from small blind Ben Fineman. After going into the tank for awhile, Samson made the call, putting his tournament life at risk. Samson tabled as he saw he was up against the of Fineman. The flop brought an ace in the door as is came , enough to give Samson the lead in the hand. The turn and river were respectively, and Samson doubled up.
Short stack Doug MacKinnon has just been eliminated from the tournament by big stack Blair Hinkle. MacKinnon moved all in pre-flop holding A-6 and was called by Hinkle who tabled Q-10 at the showdown. A flop of 10-10-Q all but killed MacKinnon's hopes of reaching the final table and the nine that fell on the turn officially cemented the hand for Hinkle.
MacKinnon took home $9,661 for his 25th-place finish.
Allen Cunningham opened for a raise to 12,000 in the cutoff and Steve Wong re-raised him all in for 69,500 more from the small blind. After thinking for a moment Allen decided to call with and was a coin flip to Steve's . Allen spiked a king on the flop, and Steve Wong is now out of the tournament in 24th place for $9,661.
Danny Wong was just eliminated from the championship event by Jason Riesenberg in a battle of the blinds.
According to Jason, he completed the bet from the small blind holding K-2 and Danny checked his option in the big. The flop came A-K-5 with two black cards and Jason passed the first option to Wong who put out a "teaser bet." Jason called and the turn brought a seven, which put a double flush draw on the board. Jason checked once more and Danny insta-shoved. Confident that his king was good, Jason snap-called and sure enough, Danny turned over 4-5. The river brought a red ace and that was all she wrote for Wong, who took home $9,661 in prize money for his 23rd place finish.
A few hands after absorbing a bad beat from an opponent who went runner-runner to complete a flush, Mark Newhouse put his remaining 60,000 all in pre-flop from late position and was called by Ben Fineman in the big blind who tabled and found himself well ahead of Newhouse's A-9.
Newhouse spiked a nine on the flop but Fineman regained the lead when the rolled off on the turn. The river blanked out sending Newhouse to the rail in 22nd position.
