Ron Koenemann Takes Down a Nice Pot

Action folded around to Ron Koenemann in the small blind and he raised to 2,800. Mark Eddleman called from the big blind and it was heads up to the flop of {K-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades}. Koenemann bet 6,000 and Eddleman raised to 12,000. Koenemann wasted little time calling. The turn brought the {9-Spades}. Koenemann slowed down and checked it. Eddleman bet 7,500. Koenemann called. The river came the {4-Spades}. Both men checked and flipped up their hands. Koenemann showed {K-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} which bested the {A-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} of Eddleman. Koenemann took down the pot.

Field Update

Blake Cahail Eliminated

Action folded around to Blake Cahail on the button who moved all in. Jesse Bowman made the call from the small blind. The players showed:

Cahail: A-5
Bowman: 7-7

Cahail failed to improve and was eliminated in 19th place.

Samuel Shamburg Doubles Through Tony Merksick

Robert Wisiak raised to 4,200 from early position. Action folded around to Tony Merksick who called from the button. Samuel Shamburg moved all in from the big blind for 22,400. Wisiak thought a bit before finally folding and Merksick made the call. The players showed:

Merksick: {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}
Shamburg: {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}

The flop came {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{4-Spades} and Wisiak winced. He loudly declared "I folded eight-seven of hearts." The turn and river bricked for Merksick and Shamburg doubled through.
