Tough Times At Thirteen

As tables continue to be broken, a number of interesting situations are developing in the room. Of note is the seating arrangement over at the unlucky Table 13 where we find John Spadavecchia, all-time leading WSOP-C casher Doug "Rico" Carli, and Al Riccobono occupying seats 5, 6, and 7 respectively. It appears that we have a new toughest table in town.

Table of Near-Death

The featured table is another place that is unfit for the faint of heart.

In Seat 2, we find internet sensation Kyle "kwob20" Bowker. Taking the term "internet sensation" to new heights is Seat 7 where sits Eric "sheets" Haber. Two spots over, in Seat 9, we find Mike Sica, working with the short sack but ever dangerous.

Bowker Shoots Another Arrow

We join a pot between Kyle "kwob20" Bowker and two other players at the featured table.

On the turn, the board shows {4-Clubs} {J-Clubs} {10-Spades} {10-Diamonds}, and there is just more than 10,000 in the pot already. Action checks to the middle man, Bowker, and he slips out 9,000 chips. The man to his left folds, but he finds action from an early position caller.

The two men watch the dealer turn the final card: {3-Spades}. It again checks to Bowker, and he keeps the pressure on with 16,000 more chips. His opponent tanks for several minutes, contemplating a decision for nearly his full stack. Finally, he says, "I call," and Bowker quickly turns over {Q-Clubs} {10-Clubs}. It's the winner, as his opponent mucks his hand before adding the additional 16,000 to the pot and shipping it to the internet pro.

After that nice little pot, Bowker has chipped his way up to 74,000 and is now the big stack at his very dangerous table.

A Deadly Table

Mike Sica - Eliminated
Mike Sica - Eliminated
We've just had another casualty at the featured table.

We pick up the action in a heads-up pot between Steve Saris and the aforementioned Mike "Little Man" Sica. The action is unclear preflop, but the two men watched the dealer spread the first three community cards: {A-Spades} {9-Hearts} {8-Spades}. Sica ended up all in for less than 10,000 and was looked up by Saris.

Showdown:
Sica: {10-?} {J-?}
Saris: {7-Spades} {9-Spades}

Saris was well ahead and had the better draw. The river was a blank {K-Diamonds}, and the turn was no help to Sica either. The {4-Spades} that filled out the board improved Saris to the winning flush, earning himself all of Sica's chips plus the knockout.

The cheerful Mike Sica wished his table luck before meandering around the tournament room for a few minutes. He found the empty seat of buddy Chris Reslock and sat down, drawing a laugh from the rest of the table.

Everyone is sad to see Little Man go.

Is This Seat Taken?

The featured table was no doubt relieved to get rid of one skilled player with the elimination of Mike Sica.

You can imagine the looks on their faces, though, as the imposingly tall figure of Billy Gazes made his way through the ropes and into his new spot in Seat 9. Things aren't getting any easier for the featured players today.

Staying Afloat in the Testosterone Ocean

One half of our female contingent has been sent to the rail here just before the dinner break.

The action of the hand is unclear, but the charmingly talkative Miss Kathleen has been ousted from the field. That leaves only Joanne Monteavaro to represent the women of poker here, with just over 100 men left to defeat.

Dinner Break

The green T25 chips are being colored up and raced off, after which the players will take their scheduled dinner break. Play will resume at 8:00pm sharp!

Level: 7

Blinds: 400/800

After-Dinner Poker

With full bellies and droopy eyes, the 104 remaining players have filed back into their chairs, and play has resumed. We'll play on until 2:00am ET or until we have 36 players remaining, whichever comes first.
