Solis Clashes with Dombrowski

Jake Solis
Jake Solis
Jake Solis has just doubled through former chip leader Chris Dombrowski to move to 109,000 in chips.

In what was a battle of the blinds, Dombrowski opened with a raise from the small and Solis countered with a raise of his own from the big. Dombrowski then four-bet the pot and Solis answered by moving all in over the top, for an approximate total of 52,000. Dombrowski made the call and tabled {K-Spades} {K-Hearts}; Solis could only produce {A-Hearts} {7-Hearts}.

The {2-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} {A-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} board came to Solis' rescue, as he made the winning pair of aces to claim the pot. Dombrowski was left with 79,000 in chips after the hand.

Archbold Done for the Day

Shot stacked and up against a raise from Travis Erdman, Kevin Archbold committed his last 12,000 to the middle and made his stand holding {5-Clubs} {5-Diamonds}. Erdman tabled {A-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} and breathed easy a the door card was the {A-Spades}, followed by {Q-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} . The aces held as the board rounded out {9-Clubs} {7-Spades}. Erdman, already on the leaderboard, added to his stack, which sits at 172,000 currently.

While this hand played out, Preston Derden eliminated Tom Masinter on another table.

Cooke Gets Courageous

Chris Dombrowski
Chris Dombrowski
Preflop, Chris Dombrowski open-shoved all in from middling position for a total of 30,700. Neal Cooke, sitting to Dombrowski's immediate left, also opted to move all in for approximately 45,000. All other players folded and a showdown ensued:

Showdown:
Dombrowski: {10-Hearts} {10-Clubs}
Cooke: {J-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds}

"This hand's been hitting for me all day," said Cooke as he sweated the board: {5-Hearts} {7-Hearts} {5-Clubs} {7-Clubs} {5-Diamonds}

Dombrowski's tens gave him a bigger boat than the one that Cooke played on the board, to secure his double up and boost him to about 65,000 in chips. Cooke, meanwhile, dropped to 13,900 in the loss.

Sanders Rivers a Straight to Best Marks

Jason Sanders opened the pot with a raise to 6,000 and James 'Drew' Marks made the call from the big blind.

The flop came {5-Diamonds} {6-Spades} {6-Hearts}, and both players checked, opting to see a free turn: {3-Diamonds}.

Marks then led out with a 3,000 bet and Sanders made a quick call, which took us to the river: {2-Diamonds}.

Marks fired once more, this time making it 10,000 to go. Sanders made a no-nonsense call and tabled {A-Hearts} {4-Clubs} for a straight; Marks turned over {A-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} for ace-high.

After the hand, Sanders jumped back up to 96,000 in chips while Marks dropped to 57,500.
