Terry Takes a Hit

Level 5 : 100/200, 25 ante

We missed the preflop action, but it must have been a three-bet pot because there were more than 5,000 chips piled in the middle as three players headed off to the community cards.

The flop came out {4-Diamonds} {8-Hearts} {K-Spades}, and the table checked around to Todd Terry. He put out a bet of 3,100, and the unknown gentleman in the under the gun called. Amnon Filippi ducked out from the middle seat, and the other two went heads up the rest of the way.

They check-checked through the {J-Clubs} turn and {Q-Spades} river, and it was showdown time. "I got an eight," said the out-of-position gentleman. Terry sunk in his chair and waited to see the cards, but it took several long seconds before his opponent finally slapped his {A-Spades} {8-Spades} out onto the table. Terry's cards hit the muck, and he checked on the status of his chip stack which has slipped back down under 31,000 now.
