In the hijack seat, an unknown player open-shoved his last 10,700 chips into the middle. The table folded around to the big blind where Matt Brady squeezed his cards and let out a sigh of consideration. It was another minute or so before he made the call, committing about a third of his own stack in the process.
Showdown
Brady:
Opponent:
The flop was in Mr. Brady's neighborhood, improving him to top pair and leaving his opponent dead to two outs. The turn didn't change anything, and the river was as blank as it gets. With his ace pairing up, Brady has earned the knockout to move up over 40,000.
With two callers ahead of him, Ari Engel raised to 4,100 from middle position. Action folded around to the first limper and he went all in for 7,900. Charlie Hook, the second caller, folded. Engel called and tabled , leading his opponent's .
The board came down to clinch the bustout for Engel, now up to about 82,000.
Returning from dinner, we see that Travis Williams is missing in action. A quick check of Twitter confirms he's migrated over to the cash tables after running though his stack here in the Main Event.
We picked up the action on the flop as the dealer spread out . There was about 5,500 in the pot already, and Shawn Busse checked from the big blind. His opponent in position bet 3,000, and Busse check-raised all in for just over 10,000 total. The call came quickly, and Busse was at risk as the cards were turned up:
Busse:
Opponent:
"Oh, god," said the player in position, ahead but nervous about Busse's outs. He lowered his head to the table and didn't watch as the turn and river filled out the board.
"You win," Busse said, and his opponent snapped his head up to confirm for himself. Busse has indeed been eliminated after missing his draw.
Well, that was a pretty uneventful level. There just wasn't much going on in the room as the players hunkered down to collect on that buffet equity.
In any event, the level has mercifully come to a close, and the players are off for that aforementioned dinner break. Play will resume just after 7:20 P.M. ET.
A player in middle position opened to 1,600 and action folded to WSOP-C Choctaw Main Event Champion Huy Nguyen in the cutoff. He popped it 4,200, sending the action back to the raiser. Atfer a few moments and an all-in shove, Nguyen called all in for 16,300 with , leading his opponent's .
The board ran out , safe for Nguyen and improving his stack to about 35,000.
