Herm Hits the Felt

Level 21 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

The staff was waiting to conduct a redraw, but they had to wait for a hand to play out at one of the tables. It began with Mark Herm opening under the gun to 17,000, and Ari Engel called from the cutoff seat. In the big blind, Michael DePasquale reraised to 50,000, and Herm shoved all in for about 210,000 total. That shook Engel off his hand, but DePasquale made the call with the covering stack, putting "dipthrong" at risk for his tournament life.

Showdown
Herm: {A-Clubs} {Q-Hearts}
DePasquale: {A-Hearts} {K-Clubs}

Herm was in bad shape, and he'd find no help from the dealer. The board came {3-Hearts} {10-Hearts} {6-Clubs} {9-Clubs} {2-Diamonds}. The ace-queen falls, and Herm does as well. He's out in 18th place, and DePasquale has taken the chip lead with 720,000 now.
