Bazely Out of the Basement

Level 28 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Jake Bazeley
Jake Bazeley

Billie Payne opened to 110,000 in early position, and Jake Bazeley three-bet all in for 450,000 total. Payne could not call, and he folded to leave himself with just about 600,000. Bazely moves just ahead of that now, bumping his stack up to 615,000 and out of the bottom spot.

Billie Payne Eliminated in 7th Place ($18,185)

Level 28 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Billie Payne - 7th place
Billie Payne - 7th place

We've lost another player, and this time it's Billie Payne heading to the rail.

It was the 50th hand of the day when Payne open-shoved for 510,000 from the hijack seat with {8-Hearts} {8-Diamonds}. He almost made it. The table passed around to the big blind where Jonathan Poche squeezed out {A-Hearts} {A-Diamonds} and made the easy call with Payne's tournament life in the balance.

There was no help at all on the {6-Clubs} {J-Clubs} {7-Diamonds} flop, and the turn {3-Hearts} and river {Q-Hearts} failed to save Payne's tournament life. He's out in 7th place, pocketing more than $18,000 for three days' work.

Jake Bazeley Eliminated in 6th Place ($23,416)

Level 28 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Jake Bazeley - 6th place
Jake Bazeley - 6th place

Under the gun, Todd Wood opened to 85,000, and Jake Bazeley three-bet shoved for 660,000 from the big blind. Wood didn't waste any time calling with the {A-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds}, and Bazeley's {A-Clubs} {6-Clubs} had him in bad shape to stick around.

The {A-Spades} {Q-Hearts} {J-Clubs} flop was not particularly good for "Bazeman", and the turn {K-Hearts} left him dead to a chop. He needed to pull one of the tens in the deck to make Broadway, but the river {4-Spades} was most certainly not one of them.

That marks the end of Bazeley's day in 6th place, good for a payday of $23,416. With that knockout, Wood moves back into second place with 1.94 million now.

Evans Not Messing Around

Level 28 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Opening the pot under the gun, Josh Evans made it 95,000 to go, and Jonathan Poche reraised to 205,000 in position. Evans answer was a shove all in over the top, and Poche laid his hand in the muck.

Evans moves ahead of Poche with that pot, sitting with 1.32 million to his opponent's 1.21 million.

Scott Zakheim Eliminated in 5th Place ($30,595)

Level 28 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Scott Zakheim - 5th Place
Scott Zakheim - 5th Place

Scott Zakheim raised to 90,000, and Jonathan Poche three-bet all in with the covering stack. Zakheim called all in for about 700,000 total, and he was flipping for double or nothing.

Showdown
Zakheim: {A-Diamonds} {K-Hearts}
Poche: {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs}

Zakheim could not connect with the board as the dealer ran out {7-Hearts} {4-Spades} {7-Spades} {8-Clubs} {4-Diamonds}. Unable to improve, his day has come to an end in 5th place, good for more than $30,000.

Wood Takes Back The Lead

Bobby Toye min-raised to 100,000 on the button and Todd Wood popped it to 230,000 from the big blind. Toye four-bet to 430,000, but Wood was fine with that, promptly moving all in. Toye folded, giving up the lead to Wood.

Under the gun, Jonathan Poche raised to 110,000, and Josh Evans three-bet all in for another 935,000 on top. Poche gave it a look before surrendering, and Evans stacks an additional 180,000 chips into his pile.
