With his stack dwindling over the last level or so, Michael Traylor open-shoved his into the of Jake Bazeley.
Traylor flopped a flush draw with , but that's as close as he'd get. The turn and river were no help to him, and he's been run out of the room in 34th place.
Chun Larson got the rest of his short stack into the middle with , running his lone overcard into the of James McBride. Pocket tens held up on a board full of blanks, and Larson has fallen in 33rd place.
First into the pot, Matt Waxman came in raising to 14,000. Melih Birdal flatted from the small blind, and Allie Prescott came along from the big blind as well.
Three-handed, the dealer spread out a flop, and everyone checked through to the turn. The blinds checked again, and Waxman made a delayed continuation bet of just over half the pot. Birdal called, Prescott ducked out, and the river completed the board. Birdal took the lead now with 35,000 of his own chips, and Waxman moved all in with his covering stack. Birdal called off his last ~130,000, but we'd never get to see his hand. Waxman turned up for the nuts, and quad queens have ushered Birdal to the exit in 32nd place.
Waxman is taking control of this field, sitting pretty with 590,000 and the chip lead.
We didn't see how the money got in, but when we walked up to the table, there was nearly 400,000 chips piled in the middle. Eric Utter had the shortest stack and the worst hand with , and Douglas Lang was in the middle with . Mstr Lynch had both players covered, and he had very much the best of it with .
The flop gave Utter a little crack to try and squeeze into. The turn was even more help, opening up another two outs to the win. Lynch was standing behind his chair asking the dealer to, "Hold."
His request fell on deaf ears. The ripped off on the river, and Lynch turned away from the table in disgust. He's left with just about 55,000 chips, and that's still 55,000 more than Utter. He's out, and Lang is now chasing the chip leaders with 390,000 in front of him now.
Joshua Evans raised to open the pot before Matthew Hankins three-bet back at him. From the button Michael Hallen four-bet shoved for his last 50,000 total. Not to be outdone, Evans shoved back over the top for 179,000 total, and Hankins made the call to put both players at risk.
Showdown
Evans:
Hankins:
Hallen:
The flop was blank, but an ace on the turn gave Evans the big pot and a chip increase to 420,000. Hallen is out in 29th place, and Hankins is left with just about 80,000 chips after his kings fell on the turn.
Matt Waxman is starting to open up some breathing room for his chip lead. On the last hand, Matthew Hankins got his money in with his flipping against Waxman's .
Board: .
That's another knockout for Waxman, and this latest one boosts his stack up dangerously close to 800,000. Either way, he's got more than 10% of the chips in play with 26 players left.
