Joseph & Kelty - BFFs

Level 19 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Thomas Kelty was sure his fate was to be the bubble boy. As the bubble was nearing he had less than 10,000 and was hoping to grind it out. After Charles Cox busted Kelty's table was happy for him that he survived.

After only a couple hands Kelty moved all in and tablemate Jeff Joseph begrudgingly called. Kelty turned over pocket kings and Joseph had pocket aces.

"King, king, king!" Joseph called. Yep, he was actively rooting to loose the hand. The flop came {6-Hearts} {3-Hearts} {6-Diamonds} and the table was still calling for a king.

Know what's coming? Yep, the {K-Clubs} spiked on the turn and the table exploded. Kelty took the pot, but he didn't hold onto the chips for long. One hand later Kelty was busted and Joseph told him Merry Christmas.

Charles Cox Bursts Bubble

Down to his last five big blinds, Charles Cox moved all in with {a-Clubs}{4-Clubs}. Roman Valerstein looked him up with {k-Hearts}{9-Spades}, and both the flop ({j-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}), and the turn ({j-Hearts}) were clean.

Unfortunately for Cox, the {k-Spades} spiked on the river, giving Valerstein a winning pair of kings. Cox is our 64th place finisher, and the final player to be eliminated without compensation. The next player out will receive $2,940.

Lippert Takes from Buzgon

Adam Lippert above 200,000 chips.
Adam Lippert above 200,000 chips.

Adam Lippert and Daniel Buzgon were heads up with the board reading {j-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}. Lippert checked to Buzgon, who tanked before tossing out 24,500. Lippert called.

The river was the {10-Clubs}, which brought a possible straight draw, and Lippert again checked. Buzgon tanked for a while before finally knuckling behind, and Lippert quickly turned over {k-Spades}{j-Spades} for two-pair. Buzgon mucked, while Lippert raked in the pot.

Fielder Rebounds

Jeff Fielder back among the leaders.
Jeff Fielder back among the leaders.

Jeff Fielder had 450,000 just 20 minutes ago. Five minutes ago his stack was under 200,000. Now he's back up over 400,000 again. On a flop of {4-Clubs} {3-Spades} {5-Clubs} Fielder's opponent moved all in and Fielder called. His opponent had pocket jacks and Fielder tabled pocket kings. The turn and river were blanks and Fielder left his opponent with just over 10,000.

Folding Kings

Level 19 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

"Imma need a couple of minutes, guys."

That's what Mike Devinsky said moments ago when an opponent open-shipped 178,500 into a pot of 60,000. The board was {9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}, and Devinsky announced, "I got kings right now. I bet the flop and he just sends it in on the turn."

We don't think anyone heard this mini-speach but us, and after a few more minutes of debating himself, Devinsky folded.

"Show the bluff!" he begged his opponent. "I still have like 300,000 to tilt off."

His opponent silently mucked his hand.
