We'll Crown a New Champion Today

Ryan Higgins leads the field as the only player over 1 million.
Ryan Higgins leads the field as the only player over 1 million.

Day 3 of the World Series of Poker Circuit Caesars Atlantic City Main Event is set to begin in just a few minutes. Before the day is over one lucky player will earn an invite to the million dollar freeroll at the National Championship, a WSOPC gold ring and $191,194 to boot. The field was trimmed to 22 players at the end of Day 2 and a final table should only be a few levels away.

Leading the field is Ryan Higgins with the only seven-figure chip count in the field (1.477 million). But the field isn't far behind with Aaron Overton (955,000) and Justin Liberto (893,000) lurking. Notables Josh Brikis, Garry Gates, Roland Israel, Edward Pham and Tyler Kenney all hope to make this day their own as well.

The final table will be streaming live on WSOP.com and follow all the action live on Pokernews.com.

Pahuja Doubles

Vinny Pahuja open-jammed his last 144,000 chips, and Jeremy Halaska looked him up from the blinds.

Showdown

Pahuja{j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Halaska{6-Spades}{6-Clubs}

The {2-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop kept Halaska out in front, but the {9-Spades} on the turn gave Pahuja a leading pair of jacks. The {3-Diamonds} paired the board on the river, and Pahuja doubled to around 300,000 chips.

Eriquezzo Doubles Through Liberto

Cameron Hamilton started the hand by opening for 36,000, Alex Rivera called, Ryan Higgins called, Ryan Eriquezzo shoved from the button and Justin Liberto called the all in from the big blind. With so much action preflop Hamilton, Rivera and Higgins all folded and let the other two go to showdown.

Eriquezzo: {10-Hearts} {10-Diamonds}
Liberto: {9-Spades} {9-Diamonds}

The board ran {10-Spades} {8-Hearts} {2-Spades} {8-Diamonds} {3-Clubs} and Eriquezzo doubled up with his set. Hamilton and Rivera said they folded pocket sevens and jacks respectively. Then Higgins announced he folded {10-} {8-}.

Kenney Ships Massive Double

Greg Brletich opened to 40,000 on the button, and Tyler Kenney three-bet to 105,000 from the small blind. Brletich tank-called, and the dealer fanned {3-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{3-Spades}. Both players checked.

The turn was the {6-Diamonds}, and Kenney led for 93,000. Brletich thought for half of a minute, then announced, "all in." Kenney snapped it off.

Showdown

Kenney{a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}
Brletich{6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}

Kenney dodged a six when the {q-Clubs} completed the board, and doubled to more than 1 million chips.

Showdown

Ziba{a-Spades}{k-Spades}

Pahuja's queens held as the board came {3-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{9-Clubs}, and he doubled to more than 500,000 chips.

Brikis Doubles Through Lovett

Chris Lovett opened to 32,000 from the cutoff, and Josh Brikis three-bet jammed for 181,000 on the button. The blinds released, and Lovett went deep into the tank. Eventually he made the call, but was dominated.

Showdown

Brikis{a-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Lovett{q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

Brikis made a pair of aces on the {a-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{j-Spades} flop, but it actually gave Lovett an extra out. The turn ({8-Hearts}) and river ({4-Clubs}) were both bricks however, and Brikis doubled to nearly 400,000 chips.
