Brutal Flop Sends Klein to the Rail

Level 20 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

We're not sure of the amounts, but Geffrey Klein opened the pot and was soon met with a three-bet by Cory Brinkman. Klein responded by moving all in and Brinkman made the call, creating a nearly 400K pot.

Showdown

Brinkman{A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}
Klein{A-}{K-}

Brinkman's face said it all. He knew he was in about the worst possible spot, but his face managed to light up like a Christmas tree when the flop fell {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{3-Clubs} to give him two pair and the lead. Klein couldn't believe it and both players were up out of their seats. The {3-Hearts} turn gave Klein some chop outs to a three, but the {Q-Diamonds} river was no help; in fact, it improved Brinkman to a full house.

With that, Brinkman chipped up to 500,000 while Klein made his way to the payout desk in 54th place.
