Day 1 Started

Welcome To WSOP-C Harrah's Rincon!

Good morning everyone! Welcome to sunny Southern California, where we are bringing you the next installment of the WSOP Circuit Series! Today we are coming to you from just outside of San Diego, as we are at the Harrah's Rincon Resort! The main event is scheduled to get underway in just over 30 minutes, and we are excited to bring you all of the action!

Last year, this event drew 188 players, with Seneca Easley topping all of them to claim a first place prize of $70,384. Easley had quite the dominating performance, as he was both the chip leader at the end of day 1 with 36 players left, as well as the end of day 2, where they decided the final table. 21 players cashed in last year's event, including Garry Gates, who finished 4th in the Atlantic City Main Event just two weeks ago, Eddy Sabat, and Alex Masek, who finished runner up to Freddy Deeb at the Bicycle Casino Circuit event earlier this year.

We will be playing two day 1 flights today, with the first one starting at noon. Play will conclude at 6, with more players filing in after for Day 1b. The survivors of both flights will come back tomorrow to play day 2, and we will have a winner by Monday! We are looking forward to bringing you all of the action. Stay tuned to Pokernews for continuing coverage all day long!

Mackoff Let's It Go

After a player limped in middle position, Jonas Mackoff raised his button to 200. Both of the players in the blinds called, as did the limper.

The flop was {10-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and action checked to Mackoff who continued for 450. The player in the small blind came along while the other two opponents folded. The turn was the {6-Clubs} and this time it was Mackoff's opponent who led for 525. Mackoff made the call.

The river was the {k-Hearts} and the player first to act fired out once again, this time for 1,125. It didn't take long for Mackoff to release his hand and drop down to under the starting stack.

Interesting Table Draw

Chris Summers and David Miscikowski may not be household names yet, but they do know a lot about each other's games. These two played plenty together in the WSOP-C Main Event at the Bicycle Casino in January. Both players fell just short of the final table glory, as Miscikowski finished 11th and Summers finished 10th. Well the two of them are here today and not only are they at the same starting table, but they are rubbing elbows sitting side by side! Both will surely be looking to top their performance in LA this time around, and we will be sure to keep an eye on them.
