An Unreasonable Clock Call

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante

Kurt Jewell isn't playing Rush Poker.

Three limpers entered the pot and then Kurt Jewell raised 550 more from the big blind. Lee Cee and Huy Nguyen called to see the flop fall {Q-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} {5-Spades}. Jewell bet out 1,050, Cee called and the others got out of the way. The turn brought the {5-Clubs} and Jewell check-called 3,000. The river was the {K-Clubs}, Jewell checked and Cee moved all in.

Jewell leaned back in his chair and thought for a few moments. After a short time Cee called for a clock on Jewell and the dealer was reluctant to call the floor. Cee insisted and the floor was called. A floorman came to the table and the dealer said the clock was called, but not after a reasonable amount of time.

The floorman trusted his dealer and said to call him back if Jewell took longer than a reasonable amount of time. Jewell sat motionless for a few more moments and then pushed his cards to the dealer.

Seaton Sent Packing

Robert Seaton open shipped his stack of 3,200 and received a call by Jennifer Parrish, who was shocked to see both the button and small blind call behind. All three active players proceeded to check down each street as the board ran out {4-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{8-Hearts}{10-Clubs}, prompting Parrish to turn over {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}. The button announced a pair before rolling over {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}, which inspired both the small blind and Seaton to muck.

Even though she lost that pot, Parrish is still sitting pretty with 25,500, while Seaton made his way to the exit.

Chang Headed in the Right Direction

An under-the-gun player limped and inspired the hijack and button to do the same. Matthew Chang then decided to exercise his option from the big blind with a raise to 600, which all three limpers called. When the flop came down {K-Clubs}{2-Spades}{10-Hearts}, action checked to the player on the button and he fired out 1,200.

Chang responded with a check-raise to 2,500, which cleared the field, including the button. With that, Chang is up to 25K.

Overpair vs. Overpair

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante
Shaun Johnston took a hit holding jacks.
Shaun Johnston took a hit holding jacks.

Shaun Johnston opened for 400 and the player in the small blind called. The flop came {3-Spades} {6-Hearts} {8-Clubs}, the small blind bet 700 and Johnston called. The turn brought the {6-Clubs}, the small blind checked and Johnston bet 1,100. The small blind check-raised to 2,500 and Johnston called. The river was the {3-Diamonds} and the small blind bet 3,100. Johnston thought for a moment and tossed in a call.

The small blind turned over {Q-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} and Johnston sighed as he turned over pocket jacks.
