Nicholson Falls Short of His Second Main Event Win of the Season

David Nicholson, winner of the Horseshoe Bossier City Main Event earlier in the season, was looking for his second Main Event win here today; unfortunately for him, his hopes were demolished after action folded to Clint Baker in the small blind and he raised. Nicholson was in the big blind and decided to move all in with {K-Spades}{3-Spades}, only to discover Baker had woken up with {A-}{A-}.

The board provided no help and Nicholson, who is qualified for the National Championship, was eliminated in 35th place.

Brown Goes Down

Dantonio Brown
Dantonio Brown

Dantonio Brown, who began the day as chip leader, had an up-and-down day, one that recently came to an end. After dropping to just 100,000, Brown limped in early position and was met with a raise by Chad Bradbury from the cutoff. The button and blinds got out of the way and Brown simply moved all in. Bradbury essentially had the same stack and made the call.

Showdown

Brown{A-Clubs}{4-Spades}
Bradbury{A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}

Brown was dominated and desperately need some luck, but there was none to be had as the board ran out {10-Spades}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades}{10-Hearts}{A-Hearts}. Brown's journey came to an end in 36th place for $3,897.
