We're not sure of the details, but La Sengphet has been eliminated from the Main Event. Sengphet had played the second starting flight last night and busted, prompting her to take advantage of the late registration and re-enter before the start of Day 2, an option available to those who played only Day 1b.
In other news, Al Theriac has also been eliminated from the tournament.
Both Larry James and Jim Naifeh were recently eliminated in the same hand when the former's and the latter's failed to crack the pocket aces of a third player.
In the last hand before the break, a player in early position limped and inspired Ron Rose to do the same from the small blind. The big blind checked his option and three players took a flop of . Rose was first to act and immediately moved all in for around 7,000. The big blind quickly folded while the EP player gave it some thought before folding face up. Rose then showed .
Even with that win, Rose is still extremely short with just 13,000.
A.P. Phahurat informed us that he had dropped to just 5,000 in chips only to hit a heater and run it up to 50,000. Not long after, we saw Phahurat exiting the tournament area. It appears his comeback was cut short and that he has been eliminated from the tournament.
Dantonio Brown, who began the day with a massive chip lead, hasn't had the greatest of starts as he has lost around 100,000. In a recent hand, he opened for 3,500 from the hijack and was called by Traci Brown in the big blind. When the flop fell , both players checked and the was put out on the river.
Again Traci checked, but this time Dantonio bet 7,000. His opponent folded and he took down the small pot. It wasn't much of a hand, but it gave us the opportunity to update their chip counts.
