Bowker Bows Down

A player in early position opened to 900, and Kyle Bowker and the man on the button both called to see a three-way flop.

It came {8-Clubs} {A-Spades} {5-Clubs}, and Bowker was the first to lead at the pot with 1,600. That folded the initial raiser, but the button called to go heads-up to fourth street. The {3-Clubs} landed on board, and now Bowker check-called 3,200 from his opponent. On the {8-Hearts} river, Bowker checked again, and Mr. Button fired one final bullet of 7,400 chips.

Bowker spent a long few minutes soaking in the think tank, but he eventually uncapped his cards and surrendered them into the muck. It's been a productive start to Bowker's day, but that las pot slips him back down to about 36,000.

Brady Down a Bunch

While we were checking in on the East Coast circuit regs, we wandered past Matt Brady's table to see him involved in a little pot.

The turn of the {10-Spades} {5-Clubs} {10-Clubs} {7-Hearts} board was already out on the table when Brady made a bet of 725 into a pot of about 1,300. He was called in two places, and the {3-Spades} rivered. Brady check-called a bet of 1,625 there, and his opponent showed him {7-} {7-} for the full house. Brady held his cards for about 15 seconds before shaking his head and mucking them.

It's just a tidbit of a hand, but the real news is that Brady's chip stack has dwindled to about 8,100 here in the middle stages of the flight.

Jewell Looking To Go Back-To-Back

Earlier this month, Kurt Jewell won the Main Event at the WSOP-C stop in Tunica. He made the trip southeast to West Palm Beach and hopes to make it two in a row, but his attention is a bit divided at the moment.

After chipping up quickly, Jewell (a big Kentucky Wildcats fan) is up from his table watching his team close out a game against Vanderbilt down in the poker room. "I can see the game from my seat, but that screen is cut off and I can't see the score."

With Kentucky just closing out the victory, Jewell is no doubt in a good mood and will be looking to add to his already healthy stack.

Mstr of Ceremonies

Level 5 : 100/200, 25 ante

Mstr Lynch became a household name on the WSOP Circuit last season, just less than a year ago. It was the SoCal stop in Rincon that saw Lynch win his first gold ring in the $555 event. Just three days later, he snagged one for the other hand by conquering the $1,080 as well. Lynch's success since has been muted, but he's still grinding the trail in search of number three.

Just a moment ago, we watched Lynch open a small pot to 600 in the small blind, and the gentleman in the big blind defended to see a flop. It came {2-Diamonds} {8-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds}, and Lynch continued out with another 775. The big blind called, and the {6-Diamonds} hit fourth street. Now Lynch check-called a bet of 2,000 from Mr. Big Blind, and the two men both checked through the {9-Diamonds} river that put a four-flush on board.

At showdown, Lynch's {Q-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} was the winner, and that pot moves him up to 33,500 or so.

Papola Chipping Up

Picking up the action on a {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} board with roughly 6,000 in the middle, action was checked to Jeff Papola and he bet 3,200. His opponent popped it to 8,000, Papola stuck around, and the {K-Hearts} hit the river.

The bet was 8,000 to Papola, but he quickly announced that he was all in. His opponent gave it some thought, but ultimately gave up his hand.

Tough Table

Table 61 has developed into a bit of a tough table as the day has progressed. It began with Mike Beasley in Seat 1, and Ryan Karp soon joined up in Seat 4. Jeff Papola eventually turned up in Seat 3 to join them, and he in particular is making life tough for the other six men at the table.

Karp is short, though, and we're going to tell you how that happened in just a moment.

Karp Krippled

Level 6 : 150/300, 25 ante

We just caught a bit of this pot, but it resulted in the crippling of Steve Karp.

Karp called a bet on the turn of a {K-Spades} {7-Diamonds} {4-Spades} {2-Hearts} board, and his opponent moved all in for about a pot-sized bet on the river — maybe a bit less. Karp insta-called, but we'd never get to see his cards. Mr. Opponent tabled {4-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} for the set, and Karp has been reduced to about 5,550.
