We picked up the action on the flop in a heads-up pot between Day 1 big stack Maxim Sorkin (under the gun) and Kyle Bowker (button).
When we walked up to the table, the flop was already spread out on the table. Kyle Bowker had 4,700 chips out in front of him, but we can't say for sure if it was a bet or a raise. Either way, Sorokin responded with a raise back to 15,000 flat, and Bowker tanked and called to see the next card.
It was the , and Sorokin quickly plunked out a covering stack of red chips. Bowker threw his arms up in confusion, but he had little choice with . He quickly committed his last 50,700 to the pot, and he was soon presented with a bit of good news as Sorokin's was drawing dead.
The river was just a formality, and Bowker has found a big double to climb up to about 140,000.

Picking up the action on a flop, action was checked to Jeff Banghart and he bet 7,000. His opponent put in a check-raise to 14,500, to which Banghart responded by shoving. A snap all-in call from his opponent showed Banghart the bad news as his was dominated by .
The turn and river were no help to Banghart, who sent 61,700 across the table and is now down to about 32,000.

It's official. This edition of the WSOPC Palm Beach drew 778 runners to the felt, a nice increase over last year's 712. With the extra money, the prize pool grew to $1,131,990 this time around, and that money will be split among the final 81 players.
The bottom payout is worth $2,819 — a bit less than twice the buy-in. Things progress steadily until we hit the final two tables and the start of the five-figure payouts. The last 18 players will all earn at least $11,512, and the final table payouts are all worth $21,383 or more. A spot in the final three is worth more than $100,000, and the winner will take the lion's share of the pool. A gold ring, $226,395, and some serious bragging rights are the winner's purse here, but there are still two long days left to play before we can write that check to one of these lucky players.
We began this Day 2 with 379 players including the 33 extras who joined up this morning with a fresh stack.
In the first 75 minutes of action, we've already lost more than 100 players, and we've cruised right down to 270 without much drama. The money arrives at 81 left, and we'd expect to get there sometime shortly after dinner.
At this pace, though...
Matt Chang started the day with less than 10bb, and he managed to stave off elimination for a while before going under. He got the rest of his short stack in with , running into an opponent with to end his day.
It's not the last we'll see of Chang today. On his way out the door, we heard him tell a pair of cocktail servers, "I'll be back later to drink." Bar business is booming here at the Palm Beach Kennel Club

Soo Han tabled for the nuts. Brown was drawing dead with , making the river merely a formality.

Picking up the action on a board, Chris Tryba and Danny Suied were heads-up with a third shorter-stacked player all in.
Tryba bet 12,500 and after about one minute in the tank, Suied popped it to 27,000. A quick fold from Tryba revealed for Suied, besting his opponent's holdings to take down the pot.
