Nguyen Notches Massive Double

Soi Nguyen raised it up to 30,000, and James Czarnecki made the call. The flop came {3-Spades}{9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}, and Nguyen c-bet to 35,000. Czarnecki grabbed a few of the yellow T25,000 chips, and put in a raise to 135,000. It was back to Nguyen, and he only took a few seconds to move all in. Czarnecki made the call, making it the biggest pot of the tournament.

Nguyen: {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
Czarnecki: {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}

Nguyen was out in front with the overpair, but he would need to fade a king or heart to win the pot. The turn was a red card, but it was the {3-Diamonds}, and the river was also a red card, but also a diamond. The {q-Diamonds} to be exact.

Nguyen had 523,000 behind, meaning he has doubled up to 1.1 million. Meanwhile, Czarnecki is now one of the short stacks, with 260,000.

Ivanenko Doubles Through Nguyen

Artem Ivanenko moved all in for 96,000 in early position, and it folded around to Soi Nguyen in the big blind. Nguyen asked for a count, and when he got the official number, he said "let's gamble," and made the call. Unfortunately, for Nguyen, he was in horrible shape.

Ivanenko: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}
Nguyen: {k-Spades}{j-Hearts}

Ivanenko's patience on the short stack paid off, and he looked golden as the flop came {8-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{4-Spades}. Of course nothing is easy in poker, so the {j-Diamonds} came on the turn. Nguyen could score the knockout with a king or jack, but the river was the {3-Diamonds}.

Ivanenko is up to 205,000 after the hand, while Nguyen drops to 550,000.

Bobby Suer Eliminated in 12th Place ($8,065)

As we were typing up the bustout for Nick Egide, we also lost Bobby Suer in 12th place. We found out after that Suer open shoved for 79,000 from under the gun, and Ted Jivkov made the call. Jivkov's {a-}{j-} was dominating Suer's {j-}{10-}, and the board ran dry for Suer.

After the hand, Jivkov is sitting at 475,000.

Nick Egide Eliminated in 13th Place ($6,628)

Well it didn't take long for Soi Nguyen to get those chips back. He started the action by raising to 23,000, and he was three bet to 50,000 by Nick Egide. Nguyen made the call, and the flop came {10-Spades}{q-Spades}{q-Hearts}. From here, the action was quick, as Egide bet, Nguyen moved all in, and Egide made the call.

Nguyen: {k-Spades}{9-Spades}
Egide: {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

Nguyen was drawing very live, but Egide's hand eliminated the straight possibilities for him. Needing a spade or a king, Nguyen caught the {2-Spades} on the turn to complete his flush. The river was the {9-Clubs}, and Nguyen scored the knockout, and sent Egide to the payout desk.

Randall Rings In A Double

We only caught the aftermath of the hand, but we did see that David Randall doubled through our former chip leader Soi Nguyen. All we saw was that Randall held {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}, there was a {7-} on the river, and Nguyen was sending chips over to Randall.

After that hand, Randall is back up to 760,000, while Nguyen drops down to 465,000.

Arthur Hahn Eliminated in 14th Place ($6,628)

Despite being the oldest player left in the field, Arthur Hahn was playing fast and loose the whole way. He would routinely over bet the pot, and it finally caught up to him, as he was eliminated by Edmund Liu.

Liu raised it up to 25,000 in late position, and Hahn defended his big blind. He checked in the dark before the flop came out {2-Spades}{a-Clubs}{6-Hearts}, and Liu checked behind. Both players also checked when the turn brought the {k-Clubs}, and the river was the {k-Hearts}. Hahn open shoved all in for 207,000, even though there was only 55,000 in the pot. Liu took only about 10 seconds to call.

Hahn: {10-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Liu: {k-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}

Hahn was finally caught, and Liu got an early Christmas present, as he is back up to 845,000.

Anas Adawi Crippled, Eliminated in 15th Place ($6,628)

Anas Adawi has just been eliminated. Ray Henson did most of the damage, and Edmund Liu finished him off.

In the big hand, Adawi bet out 38,000 when the flop came out {a-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades}. Henson made the call, and the turn came the {5-Hearts}. This time, Adawi led out for 62,000, and Henson went into the tank. After about a minute of thought, he moved all in, and Adawi made the call.

Adawi: {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs}
Henson: {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}

Adawi had turned two pair, but it was still well behind the flopped set of Henson. The river came the {j-Diamonds}, and Henson doubled up to over 600,000. On the very next hand, Adawi got it in with {5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} against the {a-Spades}{3-Hearts} of Liu. The board ran down {10-Spades}{2-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}, and Adawi headed to the payout desk.
