Players are back from break and Level 4 of Day 1b is underway. (Incidentally, we're designating the levels with an added "b" here during the evening session.)
By the way, players who are playing Day 1b and who did not play and bust from Day 1a actually also have an opportunity to buy back into the event a second time, although they won't be able to do so until the start of Day 2 (Level 10).
Three players saw a flop come , including David Fox on the button. The big blind and cutoff both checked, and Fox fired a bet of 1,000. The big blind folded, but the player in the cutoff called.
The turn brought the and a bet of 2,350 from Fox's opponent. Fox paused just a couple of seconds then called.
The river was the , eliciting checks from both players. "A pair," said Fox's opponent. "No pair?" asked Fox who hadn't quite heard him, turning over for kings as he did. His opponent shook his head wordlessly in response and mucked.

Matt Glantz's Day 1b is so far proceeding better than was the case earlier today when he busted from Day 1a.
Just now Glantz was involved in hand versus a single opponent that saw the pair reach the turn with the board showing and about 3,000 in the middle. Glantz led with a bet of 2,100 from middle position, and his opponent called.
The river then brought the . Glantz looked up, his game of Open-Face Chinese Poker on the iPad with Chris Klodnicki (sitting over at a neighboring table) continuing to wait, and fired another bet of 6,100. His opponent thought a moment, then let his hand go.

"A seven?"
So asked Matt Brady — more to himself than to anyone else — as he contemplated what to do. He and his opponent had made it to the river, building a pot of 2,200 between them along the way. The board read , and Brady, playing from middle position, had fired a bet of 1,500. His opponent on the button then promptly raised to 4,500, and it was that gesture that had caused Brady to ask his question.
Finally after three minutes of thought, Brady set out the calling chips. His opponent quickly turned over his hand — for a set. Indeed, that river seven had been the trouble card. Brady showed his hand to his neighbors before mucking, and was subsequently made to show it to all — . "One-outer," said another at the sight of the hearts, further noting the good fortune of Brady's opponent.
Brady has slipped back down to just under the starting stack.
