Jivkov Calls "Just for Info"

Level 6 : 150/300, 25 ante

Nick Jivkov and an opponent were heads up with the board reading {5-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}. Both players checked.

The {j-Clubs} completed the board, Jivkov checked again, and his opponent tossed out 1,625. Jivkov tanked for nearly two minutes, then grabbed enough chips to make the call.

"Just for info," he said, dropping them in the pot.

His opponent tabled {q-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for a pair of queens, and Jivkov mucked his hand.

Nguyen-Less

Kennii Nguyen just walked by our desk and motioned his hand across his throat. Either Nguyen is threatening to kill the PokerNews Live Reporting Team, or he's been eliminated from play on Day 1a.

We'll go with the latter.

Franklin Finds a Double

"Captain" Tom Franklin was faced with a 4,000-chip bet with the board reading {2-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}. He moved all in for around 10,000, and his opponent made the call.

Franklin: {q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Opponent: {10-Diamonds}{x-Diamonds}

Franklin had his opponent drawing dead, making the {8-Hearts} on the river an inconsequential card.

Opponent Jams on Tran

JC Tran and an opponent were heads up with the board reading {j-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{7-Clubs}. Tran check-called an 1,100-chip bet, and the turn brought the {9-Diamonds}. Both players knuckled.

The {8-Hearts} completed the board, and Tran checked a third time. His opponent moved all in for what looked like 10,000 or so, and Tran was forced to fold.

A Few Counts, and Commentary from "Tahoe"

Howard "Tahoe" Andrew was up above the 30,000-chip threshold before the break, but recently he lost a sizable pot.

"I played a hand really bad," Andrew told us as we eyed up his stack.

Andrew is still very healthy with well over 100 big blinds, and arguably more experience than any other player in the tournament.

Big Stack Update

While perusing around the poker room, we noticed that a gentleman named Marty Wong has amassed a stack of 65,000 chips. That's 325 big blinds, and if he's not the leader at the moment, he's damn close.
