One for the Birdshirt

The action folded to our very own Chad "Birdshirt" Holloway, who raised to 300 in middle position. A player in the small blind mad the call, and the dealer fanned {k-Spades}{9-Spades}{8-Hearts}. The player in the small blind led out for 100, which is less than a big blind, so the dealer told him to add two green T25 chips. He obliged, and Holloway called.

The turn was another nine - the {9-Clubs} - and the player led for 200. Holloway grabbed a stack of black T100 chips, raising to what looked like 675, and the player quickly folded.

Holloway is below the starting stack, but just barely.

Late-Reg Shenanigans

Oftentimes on tour, players travel with their friends, and therefore register for the tournament with their friends. There's then the case where late-registration tables feature players who registered at the same time, as seems to be the case here.

One of these tables up on the stage includes Isaac Baron, Mohsin Charania, Ty Reiman, Blair Hinkle and Hiren "Sunny" Patel. Looks like a bit fun.

Pahuja Can't Fight the Run Out

Level 1 : 25/50, 0 ante

From under the gun, Vinny Pahuja raised to 150. He found calls from the players in the hijack seat and the small blind before the dealer spread the {J-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop. On the flop, the small blind checked, and Pahuja bet 300. The hijack seat called, then the small blind folded.

With two in for the turn, the dealer placed the {4-Spades} out on fourth street. Pahuja slowed down with a check, and the hijack fired 450. Pahuja called.

The river completed the board with the {5-Clubs}, putting a four-card straight on board and also completing a flush draw. Pahuja checked, and his opponent bet 700. Pahuja opted to fold, claiming a "pretty sick run out" of the board.

Level 1 : 25/50, 0 ante

We are currently experiencing Internet issues, but the problem is being attended to. Hopefully, we'll be up and running normally shortly.
