History is being made here in Vancouver and it is not just that this is first WSOP Circuit event on Canadian soil. This stop has also made headlines for offering two online ring events in partnership with PlayNow.com. Events 11 and 12, $320 and $530 buy-ins respectively, are open to residents of British Columbia and Quebec and will take place November 18 and 25.

Nam Fires And Takes It

We found Ki Nam, Sean Giesbrecht, and a third player going to the flop in a raised pot. The flop brought {10-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{10-Hearts} and the unknown player checked. Nam wasted no time firing 4,400 into the center of the table and Giesbrecht let his cards go. The third player folded as well and Nam was able to drag in the pot.

Chan Reaches Six Digits

Matthew Pang opened to 1,700 from under the gun plus one and his sole caller was Lillian Chang from the button. The flop was {j-Spades}{4-Spades}{K-Hearts} and both players checked to see the {6-Hearts} hit fourth street. Once again the two checked their option and the river was the {9-Spades}.

A check from Pang prompted Chan to do so right back.

"Ace-high," said Pang.

Chan showed {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs} for the best hand and took down a pot that now brings her to about 103,000 in chips.
