Madsen Makes A Flush

The board had completed {6-Spades}{7-Spades}{10-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} as we saw that Jeff Madsen was heads up with another opponent. There was about 11,000 in the middle, and Madsen had already fired out 6,300 when we arrived. Madsen only had 5,000 behind, but that stack was about to grow his opponent made the call.

Madsen tabled {a-Spades}{q-Spades} for the second nuts, and he collected the pot to get up to 30,000.

Cimpan Cues Up A Double

Action started with a player limping from under the gun. It folded to Cornel Cimpan, and he shoved all in for his last 8,550. It folded back around to the original limper, and he made the call.,

Cimpan: {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}
Opponent: {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}

The board ran down {3-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{7-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{a-Hearts}, and Cimpan collected the double up to push his stack back up to 18,000.

Clinkscales Busto, Hilarity Ensues

Rex Clinkscales just busted after shoving {K-Spades}{J-Spades} all in from the cutoff for 4550. The player in the small blind reshoved all in with {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} and everyone else folded.

The flop fell {J-Clubs}{3-Spades}{8-Spades} giving Clinkscales the massive lead and a huge redraw to boot, but the {Q-Hearts} on the turn gave the lead back to the player in the small blind. Clinkscales needed to hit a {X-Spades} on the river, but the {10-Clubs} wasn't it and he was sent packing.

At a table close by, Kyle Cartwright looked over to a friend and asked, "Did Rex just bust?" To which his friend responded, "Yeah I think so. Free roll!"

Spunds like Clinkscales may have lost more than just two buy ins today.

Bruce Buffer Busto

We didn't catch the hand that did him in, but an observer of the table filled us in on what happened. The flop came down {4-}{5-Clubs}{8-Clubs}, and Buffer got it all into the middle against two other players.

Buffer: {6-}{7-}
Opponent 1: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}
Opponent 2: {4-}{4-}

Buffer was out in front with his flopped straight, but he would have to dodge the board pairing or a club coming to win the hand. The board brought not one but two clubs, and Buffer was sent to the exits.

Basebaldy Slides Into 50,000

There was already a mountain of chips in the middle that we estimated to be 32,000 when we got to the table. Eric Baldwin was heads up on a {4-Spades}{9-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{8-Clubs} board, and Baldwin had just moved all in for 14,725. His opponent spent about 45 seconds in the tank before folding his hand, and Baldwin collected the chips.

After that hand, we have Baldwin at 50,000.

Baldwin Making Moves

When we got to the table the board read {9-Spades}{Q-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} and one player had bet 5,000 into Eric Baldwin who was on the button.

Baldwin made the call, and the {Q-Clubs} came on the river. The player on the button checked, only to see Baldwin bet 20k. The player tanked, and eventually folded.

That hand brings Eric Baldwin to just about 50,000 in chips.

Madsen's Mad

We didn't catch the preflop action but when we got to the table Jeff Madsen was all in for 12,200 chips and holding {A-Spades}{7-Spades}. He was crushed by his opponent's {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs} and it didn't get any better when the flop fell {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{2-Hearts}.

Madsen was so frustrated that he threw his cards into the air and stood up from the table to walk away.

The turn and river were the meaningless {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and Madsen made his exit.

Up and Down for Tuchman

Tuchman just lost another pot at his table, but he's still got a lot of life in this tournament.

Preflop, Tuchman raised to 1,250 from the hijack. Only the big blind called.

The flop fell {8-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{7-Spades} and the big blind checked. Tuchman bet out 2,100, and almost instantly, the big blind raised to 6,000. Tuchman eventually called.

The turn came the {q-Spades} and the big blind wasted no time betting 20,000.

"That's a big bet," Tuchman said.

"I'll show the bluff," the player said.

Eventually Tuchman folded his hand, leaving himself with 45,000 and the big blind showed {K-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for a pair and a flush draw.
