Robert Briggs has been eliminated, his last chips going to Kory Kilpatrick. Briggs joins a couple of more recent bustouts to reduce the field down to 93.
George Zinaty opened in middle position, Kyle Cartwright called on his direct left, and Hoa Nguyen three-bet to 27,000 out of the big blind. Zinaty made the call, and Cartwright tanked for a bit before back-raising to 73,000. Nguyen immediately moved all in for 176,500, and Zinaty shot up out of his chair.
"Wow," he said. "If I bust both of you, I can go on vacation."
He eventually folded, and Cartwright unhappily called.
Cartwright:
Nguyen:
"Nice hand," Cartwright said.
Nguyen held as the board rolled out , more than doubling to 385,000 chips. Cartwright slipped to just 130,000.
With about 15 minutes left in Level 19, the field is now 91 players meaning the next one out misses the money and ensures the other 90 will be cashing.
Daniel Weinman opened to 12,000 from under the gun, and both players on his direct left, including Paul Prevatte, called.
The flop fell , and Weinman continued for 13,500. The player on his direct left folded, and Prevatte tossed out five T5,000 chips. The dealer informed him that he had to make it 27,000 in order to raise, and he quickly tossed out two extra orange T1,000 chips.
Weinman reached for chips, pulled back his original bet, and slid forward 52,500.
"I'm all in," Prevatte blurted.
Weinman snap-folded, and the Lumberton, North Carolinian raked in the pot.
On the third hand of hand-for-hand play, Brad Johnson opened in middle position. Blong Lee three-bet jammed for 27,500 from the cutoff, and the action folded back to Johnson who snap-called.
The action was held until all of the other tables were finished, and then the hands were opened.
Johnson:
Lee:
"That's the only hand he [Lee] could have," someone interjected.
The flop gave Lee a set of aces, and it was all over when the turned. The completed the board, and Lee doubled.
On the fifth hand of hand-for-hand play, Milan Dragic opened for 14,000, then Jonah Blankenship thought for a couple minutes as the hands completed on all of the other tables. Finally Blankenship reraised all in for 21,000, and it folded back to Dragic who called.
Dragic:
Blankenship:
The board came , then , then , and Blankenship avoided becoming the 91st-place finisher.
Hand-for-hand play continues. The time for the next scheduled break has arrived, but they will continue to play until the bubble bursts before sending players on the next break.
On the sixth hand of hand-for-hand play, Kou Vang opened for a raise from under the gun, leaving just 36,000 behind. The action folded to Ronnie Burr, who moved all in for 34,000 more on the button. Both blinds released, and the action was back on Vang.
Vang hummed and hawed for the better part of two minutes, then finally folded face up. Burr smiled, then showed .
The bubble has burst, with Sean Walton being the unfortunate player to bust one spot shy of cashing in the WSOP Circuit Main Event at Harrah's Cherokee.
Walton opened with a raise, was three-bet by Carter Myers, then Walton pushed all in for 147,000 and Myers called. Walton tabled and Myers , and there was a pause while all of the action concluded on the other tables.
The dealer then burned a card and spread the flop — . Walton cursed at the sight of the ace on the board, and was no less displeased following the turn and river. Myers — owner of one WSOP Circuit ring (won earlier this year at Lake Tahoe) — collected the chips, and a cheer went up at the announcement that the bubble had burst.
