The Blinds Hit Vaca-Rondon

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Short-stacked Nicolas Vaca-Rondon can't wait long before he has to make a move, and it didn't happen when the blinds just hit him. When the Colombian was in the big blind, he opted to fold when Jonathan Hilton moved all in from the small. In the next hand, Vaca-Rondon folded his small blind with a raise in front of him.

Monster Three-Way All-In Pot Sees Steinberg Take Over Chip Lead

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Jonathan Hilton opened the action for 40,000 under the gun and received a call from Robert Panitch in the cutoff. Joe Tehan then three-bet all in for 319,000. Max Steinberg then called off for 248,000 from the small blind, Hilton folded and Panitch thought for about 45 seconds before calling to put both players at risk.

Panitch: {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}
Steinberg: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Tehan: {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}

The crowd and pretty much all of the players were on their feet in anticipation of the monster hand. Panitch's supporters were calling for an ace and to use his "one time," while Tehan watched the action with his hands on his head. After the dealer squared away the various pots, he burned and put out the flop ... {10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{j-Spades}.

Steinberg came from behind to flop a set and was a heavy favorite to more than triple. Panitch's supporters then began calling for a king to give their man Broadway, but that was unlikely considering Tehan held two of them. The {8-Diamonds} turn opened up some more options for Panitch to score the double elimination as a nine would also give him a straight, but the {Q-Clubs} river was no help to him.

Steinberg's set held to give him a huge triple, while Tehan took down the side pot of 142,000.

Joe Tehan Eliminated in 6th Place ($63,894)

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Joe Tehan open-shoved for 139,000 from the cutoff, and Tim Bowman called in the small blind.

Tehan: {10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}
Bowman: {a-Spades}{4-Hearts}

Tehan was drawing live, and the {7-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{2-Spades} flop gave him a backdoor straight draw. That draw was quickly eliminated when the {2-Clubs} turned, leaving Tehan with just six outs to make a pair. The {4-Clubs} bricked off on the river, and Tehan's day was done.

The cash game grinder was eliminated in sixth place, earning $63,894.

Check-Call, Check-Call, Check-Call

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

At-large qualifier Jonathan Hilton opened for 40,000 under the gun and cleared the field all the way to Tim Bowman, who defended from the big blind. Bowman proceeded to check-call bets of 42,000 on the {8-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{10-Hearts} flop and 85,000 on the {8-Diamonds} turn, and then checked for a third time when the {7-Hearts} completed the board on the river.

Hilton took a moment before betting a healthy 195,000, and Bowman tossed in a single gray T5,000 chip to signify a call. Hilton tabled the {K-Hearts}{2-Hearts} for a rivered flush, and Bowman was left shaking his head as he sent his cards to the muck unseen.

Tim Bowman Eliminated in 5th Place ($84,544)

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Tim Bowman open-shoved for 186,000 from under the gun, and the action folded to Max Steinberg in the big blind, who thought for a bit before reaching for blue T25,000 chips and flicking them forward.

Bowman: {j-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Steinberg: {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

Despite being ahead, Steinberg was the one who stood up from the table as the dealer fanned {3-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{k-Hearts}. Bowman picked up a heart flush draw, yet remained seated. Silent.

The turn was red, but the {7-Diamonds} didn't improve the North Carolinian's hand, and he was one card away from exiting in fifth place.

The dealer rapped the table, burned a card, then deliver the {10-Spades} on the river, eliminating Bowman. He will earn $84,544 for his efforts.

Bracelet Winners Battle

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

After Brock Parker had opened with a standard raise from the button, Max Steinberg called from the big blind. The latter then check-called a bet on the {6-Spades}{5-Clubs}{7-Clubs} flop, how much we're not sure, and the dealer burned and turned {4-Diamonds}. Steinberg checked for a second time and Parker took the opportunity to bet again, this time 115,000.

Steinberg thought for a solid minute before making the call, and then both players checked the {10-Hearts} river. Steinberg rolled over the {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} nuts and Parker mucked his hand.

Panitch Tries to Bluff Hilton

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Jonathan Hilton raised to 40,000 on the button, Robert Panitch called in the big blind, and the flop fell {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}. Panitch led out for 75,000, Hilton called, and the turn was the {5-Spades}.

Panitch knuckled this time, Hilton checked behind, and the {k-Spades} completed the board. Panitch led out again - this time sliding out 175,000 in blue T25,000 chips - and Hilton snap-called.

Panitch quickly mucked, prompting Hilton to show {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}.
