Four Bets on the Flop

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante
Allen Bari
Allen Bari

Jonathan Taylor opened to 425 in middle position, Allen Bari called on the button, and Brent Hanks defended from the big blind. The dealer fanned {2-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}, Hanks checked, and Taylor continued for 600. Bari raised to 1,550, Hanks folded, and Taylor made it three bets, bumping it to 2,900.

Bari tanked for a bit then reached for chips, firing out 4,600. Taylor called.

The two checked on the turn ({k-Diamonds}) and the river ({10-Diamonds}), and Taylor showed {6-Spades}{6-Hearts} for a pair of sixes. Bari had that beat with {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for a pair of sevens.

Woody & Crncic Cut Down

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

After losing the vast majority of his stack to Kurt Jewell, at-large qualified Charles "Woody" Moore got his last 3,000 all in preflop holding {A-}{K-} only to run into the {A-}{A-} of Ben Reason. There would be no miracle and Moore became one of the first players to go.

Also joining him on the rail is John Crncic of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. You may recall Crncic as the River Rock (Vancouver) Main Event champion. What you won't remember him as is the 2013 National Championship winner as he is officially out of commission.

Bjerno Eliminates Jukich on Set-Over-Set Flop

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

We noticed that at-large qualifier Michael Jukich was no longer in his seat and a quick check with the other players at the table revealed that he had been eliminated in a set-over-set hand.

According to the table, which took turns filling in the details, Sandra Wong opened under the gun and Jukich and Nathan Bjerno called from the small and big blinds respectively. The {k-}{8-}{6-} flop saw Wong lead out for 650, Jukich flat and Bjerno raise it to 1,750. Wong thought for awhile before releasing her {A-}{K-}, and then Jukich woke up with a check-raise. Bjerno four-bet, Jukich called and the dealer burned and turned the {4-}. Jukich checked, Bjerno bet 6,000 and Jukich check-raised all in for around 15,000.

Bjerno called with {8-}{8-}, which was ahead of Jukich's P6x}{6-}. The river was a blank and Jukich was sent to the rail while Bjerno chipped up to 60,000.

Bylicki Doubles Through Selbst

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

We caught the action on the river with Vanessa Selbst in the tank.

There was approximately 12,000 in the pot and at-large qualifier Alex Bylicki had moved all in for 11,200 from the small blind. We're not sure how long she'd been thinking, but we stood there for about a minute before she slung in a call. Bylicki confidently rolled over the {Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for a flopped flush and Selbst sent her hand to the muck.

Marshall Doubles

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

Ping Liu had 4,500 sitting in front of him on a flop of {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{a-Spades}. Cary Marshall moved all in for 10,475, and Liu called.

Liu: {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Marshall: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

The turn and river bricked {7-Hearts}, {6-Spades} respectively, and Marshall doubled to around 23,000 chips. Liu dropped down to 25,000.

"I Have No Chips"

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

That's what at-large qualifier Ting Ho told us as we walked by her table. That wasn't entirely true as she still had around 7,300.

As we watched, Pedro Rios opened for 525 from middle position and then called when Ho, the girlfriend of Rex Clinkscales, three-bet to 1,525 from the small blind. The two then checked it down as the board ran out {a-Spades}{6-Spades}{3-Clubs}{5-Spades}{5-Hearts}.

"Jacks," Ho said before flipping over the {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}. It was good as Rios sent his cards to the muck. She might not have a lot, but Ho certainly has some chips.
