Let's Get Krunk

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

When we reached the table, Ari Engel had a cold four-bet of 14,000 sitting in front of him, and Robert "Uncle Krunk" Panitch had a five-bet of 27,000 splashed in front of him. Engel opted to six-bet, making it 50,000 or so, and Panitch moved all in for 96,300. Engel quickly called.

Engel: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}
Panitch: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

"I don't like it," Panitch sighed.

The dealer fanned {2-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}, changing very little, and the {5-Diamonds} turned, giving Engel straight outs while also taking away all of his diamond outs.

Panitch was still unhappy, but he was allowed to exhale once the {10-Diamonds} completed the board. He doubled to 200,000 chips, while Engel plummeted to 30,100.

Deeter Done in by Reichard

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

At-lage qualifier Trevor Deeter, who finished second on the National Leader Board with 225 points, opened for 2,600 from middle position only to have fellow at-large qualifier Josh Reichard, who was 38th on the list with 147.5 points, three-bet to 5,400 from the button. The blinds folded, Deeter moved all in for roughly 35,000 and Reichard made the call.

Reichard: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}
Deeter: {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}

It was a classic flip, and all Deeter needed to do in order to survive was hold. Unfortunately for him, he couldn't do it for long as the {3-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} flop paired Reichard's queen. The {A-Hearts} turn gave Reichard two pair, meaning Deeter needed a jack on the river to survive. The dealer burned one last time and out out the {2-Spades}.

"Good luck, guys," Deeter said before taking his leave.

Mercier Doubles

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Joseph McKeehen opened to 2,500 on the button, and Jason Mercier, who slipped all the way down to 17,000 chips, moved all in from the small blind. The big blind tank-folded, and McKeehan snap-called.

McKeehen: {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}
Mercier: {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}

The flop was certainly an interesting one: {5-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}. McKeehan had flopped a set of fours, but Mercier could still make the best hand with a six, seven, or club. The {6-Clubs} would even give him an unbeatable straight flush.

The {j-Spades} on the turn was a brick, bringing Mercier one step closer to elimination, but the {6-Diamonds} completed the board, giving him a seven-high straight. He doubled to 35,000 chips, while McKeehan is down to 21,000.

Jonathan Tamayo (Day 1)
Jonathan Tamayo (Day 1)

Ari Engel has just doubled up another opponent, this time it was Jonathan Tamayo. Tamayo was all in and at risk with {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds} agains the {a-Hearts}{9-Spades} of Engel, and the board came out {7-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{5-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{3-Clubs}.

Tamayo doubled to 55,000 chips, while Engel was left with just 8,000.

One Sick River Card

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Dung Nguyen open-shoved for 17,400 from early position, and Kevin Eyster re-shoved for around 30,000 in the small blind.

Nguyen: {q-Spades}{10-Spades}
Eyster: {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}

The {8-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} flop didn't change much, but the {a-Clubs} on the turn put Nguyen into a bad spot. He was now drawing to just four outs, but low and behold the {q-Diamonds} spiked on the river, and Nguyen made a pair of queens.

He doubled to 36,000 chips, while Eyster now only has 13,000.

Engel Doubles Through Tehan; "1SickDisease" Gone

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

After Joe Tehan opened for 3,200 from early position, Ari Engel grabbed the majority of his chips and dropped them in the pot. Technically it was a three-bet to 18,000, but given he only left 5,000 back it was essentially a statement that he was all in. The blinds folded and Tehan got a count before four-betting, which prompted Engel to call off.

Engel: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Tehan: {A-Spades}{8-Spades}

Engel, who started the day with a big stack on to lose almost all of it, is now on the comeback trail as his hand held up after the board ran out {q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{2-Spades}.

Meanwhile, Kevin "1SickDisease" Eyster, who was #62 of 62 on at-large qualifiers, was eliminated in unknown action one table over.
