Day 1 Started
Welcome to our coverage of the World Series of Poker Circuit presented by Southern Comfort 100 Proof! We're on hand for one of the final stops of the year here for the Harrah's Philadelphia Main Event. Chips are currently being racked up and the tables squared for the surge of entrants that are prepping to enter the Harrah's Room. Players are certainly eager for their share of the advertised $300,000 guaranteed prize pool.
Last year this event saw 322 runners hit the felt with their eyes on the shiny gold WSOPC championship ring and the $109,760 first-place prize. At the end of three days it was Christopher Bonn who was able to capture the title and the seat to the National Championship.
Two starting flights will take place today. Each flight will consist of nine 40-minute levels. Players who are eliminated in the first place have the option to re-enter for the second flight.
Play kicks off at 11:00 AM EST. Be sure to stay tuned to PokerNews as we provide you with all of the latest updates from the tournament floor!

Ari Engel has recently taken his seat in the first flight of the World Series of Poker Circuit Harrah's Philadelphia Main Event.
Engel has established himself as a staple of the WSOP Circuit. He's a five-time ring holder and two of those rings were earned in this past season. The first of these accomplishments came during the WSOPC Hammond back in October when Engel took down the $1,125 No-Limit Hold'em event. Then, just a few months back, Engel once again saw victory in a $580 No-Limit Hold'em event at the WSOPC Palm Beach Kennel Club.
Engel currently sits in second place on the National Leaderboard with 235 points. Engel is only bested by fellow circuit grinder Rex Clinkscales. With over $115,000 in tournament winnings this year on the circuit, its clear that Engel will be a force to be reckoned with in today's tournament.

We've spotted more familiar faces who have recently taken their seats in the Harrah's Room. Among those to sit are last year's champion Christopher Bonn and Pete Kaemmerlen who took third place in this event last year.
There is also a November Niner in the house. The 2012 World Series of Poker Main Event 7th place finisher Michael Esposito is sitting with a starting stack here in Philadelphia.

We caught up to find Cord Garcia, Ari Engel, and a third player looking down at a flop of . Garcia checked over to Engel who fired out a bet of an unknown amount. The button folded and Garcia stuck around.
The dropped down on fourth street and Garcia tapped the table once more. Engel bet 350 and Garcia flat called to see the complete the board on fifth street. Garcia tapped the table and Engel tapped it right back. Garcia rolled over and Engel mucked his cards. Garcia dragged in the pot and is thriving early on with about 29,000 in chips.
