Eyster Doubles Through Paules

Level 28 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

On the first hand after the break, we had the biggest pot we've seen all tournament. Kevin Eyster made it 60,000 to go from the button, and Rosie Paules defended her big blind.

The flop came {10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}, and Paules checked to Eyster, who fired out 60,000. Paules check raised to 150,000, and Eyster came along to see the turn. That card was the {k-Hearts}, and Paules led right out for 400,000. It was for almost half of Eyster's stack, and he thought for about 45 seconds before calling.

The river was the {4-Hearts}, and Paules checked to Eyster. He moved all in for his last 675,000, and Paules said "I didn't want to see a heart." She made the call, and Eyster flipped over {7-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for a rivered flush. Paules said "nice hand," and tabled {k-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} for top two pair.

The two players essentially flip flopped stacks, as Eyster doulbed to 2.57 million, while Paules fell to 1.165 million

Play Slowing A Bit

Level 28 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

At this point, Jerry Johnson is the only player under 20 big blinds, and the chips are starting to spread pretty evenly across the table. As a result, we haven't seen as much action, save for the first hand back from the break, in the last 10-15 minutes as we had for the first part of the day.

Eyster Retakes Chip Lead

Level 28 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Kevin Eyster made it 80,000 to go from under the gun, and Jonathan Taylor called from the button. Allan Hedin also called from the big blind, and they saw the flop come down {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{7-Spades}. Hedin checked to Eyster, who fired out 80,000. Taylor was the only caller, and the turn brought the {q-Clubs}. Both players checked, and the river brought the {4-Hearts}. Eyster fired out 150,000, and Taylor tanked for about a minute before calling.

Eyster tabled {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts} for top pair, and Taylor mucked his hand. Eyster jumps to 2.72 million, and Taylor drops to 2.2 million.

Hedin Shoves Two Hands in a Row

Level 28 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Rosie Paules raised to 65,000 in the cutoff, and Allan Hedin defended his big blind. The flop came {q-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades}, and after 20 seconds of thought, Hedin moved all in for 250,000 total. Paules folded, and Hedin took the pot.

On the next hand, Hedin open shoved all in from the small blind when it folded to him, and Eyster folded his big blind. On the very next hand, Hedin raised to 80,000 from the button, and won his third pot in a row.

Johnson Picks Up the Aggression

Level 28 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Jerry Johnson had folded his way down to just 280,000 before he took a stand on back to back hands. On the first hand, Johnson opened shoved from under the gun and got no callers. On the second one, Kevin Eyster raisd to 65,000, and Johnson defended his big blind.

The flop came {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}, and Johnson quickly moved all in. Eyster folded even quicker, and Johnson took two straight much needed pots to up his stack to 430,000.

Hedin Doubles Through Eyster

Level 28 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Action started with Jonathan Taylor raising to 60,000 from under the gun. Al Hedin made the call from the cutoff, and Kevin Eyster put on the squeeze from the button, with a raise to 175,000. Taylor folded, and after about 20 seconds of tanking, Hedin moved all in for his last 465,000. Eyster made the call, and the cards were tabled.

Eyster: {q-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Hedin: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}

The flop was safe for Hedin, coming down {6-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Spades}. Eyster couldn't have asked for a better turn card: {q-Spades}. Eyster could now catch a spade, queen, or ten to win the hand, but the river was the {4-Hearts}.

Hedin jumped back up to over a million after the hand, while Eyster dropped to 2.115 million.

Johnson Doubles Through Taylor

Level 29 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

We just had double ups on back-to-back hands, as Jerry Johnson doubled through Jonathan Taylor. Johnson open shoved for his last 435,000 from under the gun, and when it got around to Taylor in the big blind, he made the call.

Johnson: {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Taylor: {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}

Johnson couldn't have asked for a much better flop: {a-Spades}{4-Spades}{k-Spades}. Taylor was now drawing to one out, and when the {8-Spades} hit the turn, the hand was sealed. The meaningless river was the {7-Diamonds}, and Johnson jumped up to 900,000, while Taylor fell to 2.05 million.
