Lynch Makes Big Laydown

Level 16 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Action started with Phillip Hui raising it up to 4,200 from under the gun. A middle position player put in a three bet to 14,000, and Mstr Lynch made the call from the button. It got back around to Hui, and he cut out a four bet of 40,000, and slid it in.

The original three better folded, and it was back to Lynch. He was in the tank for about a minute before reluctantly folding {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}, and Hui keep his hand a secret. After that hand, Hui is up to 146,000, while Lynch drops to 96,000.

Cooler Cripples Dandrea, Busts Shortly After

Level 17 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

We caught up with the action on the turn, with the board reading {6-Spades}{9-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}. Dandrea was heads up with another opponent, and he fired out 11,000 when it was check to him. His opponent called, and the turn was the {q-Spades}. It was checked again, and Dandrea fired out 15,000. His opponent moved all in for about 15,000 more, and Dandrea made the call.

Dandrea: {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Opponent: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}

Dandrea had turned trips, but they were far behind his opponent's full house. Dandrea would need a queen, jack, or six to win the hand, but the {3-Clubs} on the river didn't help him.

About 20 minutes after, Dandrea was part of a three way all in with {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}. He was in trouble as he was up against {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} and {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}. The flop brought plenty of action, coming {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}. Dandrea had the lone heart, but the board completed with spades: {7-Spades} and {3-Spades}, knocking him out.

New Chip Leader: James Ditzel

Level 17 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

James Ditzel had hovered around the 120,000 mark for most of the day, but in our last walk through, we saw that Ditzel had amassed a gigantic stack. His chips were all stacked in different amounts, so it was tough to get an exact count, but by our estimation, he's got about 350,000.

Faircloth's Aces Get Cracked

Level 17 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Action started with a middle position player open shoving for her last 43,000, and it folded around to James Faircloth in the big blind. As soon as it was his action, he announced call.

Faircloth: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}
Opponent: {q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}

The flop helped out his opponent, as it came down {k-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{3-Diamonds}. Despite pairing up, she didn't seem to think that she would win the hand, as she got up from the table. The {j-Clubs} on the turn didn't help, but the river came the {q-Diamonds}. Faircloth's opponent didn't see that she won the hand, and said "nice hand," as she started to walk away. However, the table told her she won, and she let out a gasp as she sat back down.

Meanwhile, Faircloth drops to 190,000 after that pot.

Riess Scores A Big Double

Level 17 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

We almost saw aces get cracked twice within a matter of 30 seconds, but fortunately for Ryan Riess "The Beast", his hand was able to hold up. Action started with Bruce Carter raising it up from under the gun. It folded all the way around to Riess in the small blind, and he put in a three bet. Carter moved all in, and Riess insta snap called.

Riess: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}
Carter: {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}

Short of a nine coming, the flop was about as bad as Riess could have seen: {j-Hearts}{10-Spades}{8-Spades}. Carter could now catch a queen, nine, or seven to win the hand, but he was able to dodge it, as the board completed {j-Clubs} and {3-Clubs}.

After Riess finished stacking his chips, we saw that he had 135,000.
