After busting the High Roller earlier in the day, Markus Kuhnen jumped into the Main Event after the dinner break. It didn't take long for him to put his new chip stack to work.
With around 2,000 in the middle, the flop read and Kuhnen checked from the small blind. His opponent bet 1,000 from the hijack and Kuhnen check-raised to 3,200. His opponent made the call and the peeled off on the turn.
Kuhnen led out for 7,100 and his opponent continued to call. The river paired the board with the and Kuhnen checked this time. His opponent made a small bet of 5,600 and Kuhnen announced all-in. His opponent instantly tossed his cards away and Kuhnen raked in a sizeable pot without having to show his cards.
There was an all-in raise to 4,525 from the player under the gun and Michal Ozimek called directly to his left. The player in the cutoff also made the call and the flop came . Ozimek led out for 3,500 and the cutoff folded.
The remaining two hands were tabled and Ozimek showed for a set of sevens, leaving his opponent drawing slim with . the turn was the and the river brought the . Ozimek's set was good enough to earn him the pot and eliminate a player on his table.
With around 6,000 in the middle preflop, there was another pot brewing between Catalin Pop and Daniele Primerano. The two players have been running over their table, each building a chip stack and sharing some laughs at the same time. However, it was time for them to battle against each other again.
The flop fell and Primerano check-called a bet of 3,500 from Pop. The turn was the and Primerano checked again. Pop fired a bet of 8,800 and Primerano stuck around to see the on the river. Both players checked and Primeraino showed . Pop, however, hit a nine on the river with to take down the pot.
Fabrice Soulier has seen is stack slowly being chipped away at, and finally said enough was enough. Soulier got his last 12,500 in the middle with and found himself in a dominating position up against the .
The board ran out and Soulier found a key double up. Still sitting under starting stack, Soulier has plenty of work to do with only a few levels remaining in the day.
Brandon Cantu and Vojtech Ruzicka have each found themselves a seat since the dinner break. Cantu made the trip to Rozvadov for the WSOP Europe beginning next week, after cashing in six different WSOP bracelet events earlier this summer. He also has over $4.3 million in career earnings.
Ruzicka is a former WSOP Main Event final tablist in 2016, finishing in 5th place. He has over $3.6 million in career earnings and will likely be around for the King's Casino for the next month at least.
Maxim Lykov opened to 1,300 from under the gun and was called by a player in middle position. The cutoff three-bet to 3,800, only to have the button, Lykov, and the player in middle position all call to see a flop.
The dealer fanned the flop of and the action was checked to the cutoff who continued for 7,000. Lykov was the only player to call, going heads-up to the on the turn. Lykov chose to lead out for 6,200 and his opponent reluctantly folded after tanking for over two minutes.
Ben Bensimhon continues to remind everyone around him how many chips he has, and indeed he has the largest stack in the room at the moment. A few stacks have started to emerge over the 100,000 chip mark as players get set to head on their last break of the day.
