The opening day flights of the World Series of Poker Circuit Planet Hollywood $1,700 Main Event are complete. Day 1b wrapped up Sunday night, with 440 total entries coming through Planet Hollywood Las Vegas for the second of the two Day 1 flights.

Those 442 entries were trimmed down to 90 by the end of the night, and some of the players bagging big included Ruben Chappell (330,000) who ended the night as the Day 1b chip leader.

Other big Day 1b finishers included Boshuang Gao (310,000), Jerry Payne (295,500) and Casey Stewart (278,500).

The 91 survivors of Day 1b will join the 65 players that made it through Day 1a, and the combined field of 154 will come back Monday at noon for Day 2.

With 778 total entries, the Main Event well surpassed the $1,000,000 guarantee, as the remaining players are now competing for a share of the $1,181,700 total prize pool.

Other contenders bagging chips at the end of Day 1b included Giuseppe Pantaleo (292,000), Sulabh Choudhury (279,500) and Chris Ocksrider (254,000).

Some notable names that played on Day 1b, but didn’t make it through the end of the flight, included Aram Zobian, Matt Berkey, David "Bakes" Baker and Arkadiy Tsinis.

The 154 remaining players return for Day 2 at noon Monday, and play will resume at Level 16, with the blinds at 2000/4000/4000.

Play is scheduled for 10 levels of 60 minutes each, and those that survive Day 2 will come back for Day 3 Tuesday and play down to a champion.

JIm Carroll
JIm Carroll

The player in the hijack raised and the small blind called along with Jim Carroll in the big blind.

A flop reading {q-Spades}{j-Hearts}{j-Clubs} was dealt and the small blind checked. Carroll bet 3,000 and the hijack folded but the small blind check-called.

The turn fell the {7-Diamonds} and was checked through to the {6-Hearts} river. The small blind fired 4,500 and Carrol raised to 14,500. His opponent hit the tank for a couple of minutes, then called. Carroll turned over {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} for trip jacks and his opponent sent his hand to the muck.

"Did you really just look at one card?" asked a player at the table.

"I saw one. I saw the king," answered Carroll.

Arkadiy Tsinis
Arkadiy Tsinis

The under-the-gun player opened to 2,200, Arkadiy Tsinis called on the direct left, and the big blind called.

Action checked to Tsinis on the {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} flop, and the four-time WSOP Circuit ring winner bet 3,000. The big blind put in the all-in check-raise to 14,500, and the under-the-gun player called.

Tsinis then raised to 60,000, prompting a fold from the under-the-gun player. Tsinis and the big blind then turned the cards over.

Big Blind: {j-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}
Arkadiy Tsinis: {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

The big blind saw that he was in bad shape, needing running miracle cards to stay alive. The turn {3-Spades} and river {q-Spades} clinched the big pot, however, for Tsinis.
