Shylko Grabs the Lead

Level 21 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Aliaksandr Shylko was found with a huge stack, clearly the biggest in the field so far. In his last hands he won two pots against Rifat Gegic going up to 1.7 million chips.

In the first one, he defended from the big blind after Gegic raised from early position. The board ran out {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{k-Spades} with Shylko calling a bet for 22,000 on the flop, and then both players checked down to the river. Shylko opened {a-Spades}{5-Clubs} and it was enough to give him the pot with Gegic mucking.

In the second hand, Shylko opened from the cutoff to 20,000 and Gegic was in the small blind and the only caller in the hand. The flop came {q-Hearts}{j-Spades}{6-Diamonds} and Gegic check-called a bet for 20,000 chips from Shylko.

The {10-Spades} appeared on the turn and this time Gegic led for 55,000 with Shylko calling quickly.

The {3-Spades} completed the board on the river and Gegic slowed down with a check, while Shylko bet 90,000. Gegic thought about it for a minute and sent his cards to the muck.
