"There's logic to it" - McDermott Shoves and Busts
Julien Sitbon made a late position raise and was called by Jack McDermott in the small blind for a decent chunk of his short stack. Marian Dumitrache also called in the big blind.
The flop came and action checked around to Sitbon, who bet 15,000. Dumitrache called and all other players folded. The turn was the . Dumitrache checked and Sitbon bet 55,000. Dumitrache folded.
After the hand, McDermott explained his actions to the player to his right. "There's logic to it," he said, speaking of the preflop call he had just made. "If I hit any of the flop I can shove, but if I completely whiff it I can just fold."
The next hand, McDermott found his spot to make a shove. Sohail Hussain raised from late position and McDermott moved all in. Players flipped their cards.

McDermott's logic was proved right as he was a favorite going into the flop, although he did proclaim, "That's not the hand I wanted to see."
The board ran out , giving Hussain a great number of outs on the flop. He paired up on the turn and made trips on the river. McDermott was eliminated from the tourney inside the money.
