Ivanov Thriving

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Aleksei Ivanov
Aleksei Ivanov

Aleksei Ivanov raised from early position and Ruben Pleijster shoved for 45,000 with the {K-}{Q-}. Tobias Kupke called all in for 25,000 with {A-}{Q-} and Ivanov called with the {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}. Both shorter stacks were drawing dead after the {4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{2-Clubs} turn, making the river meaningless.

Kyriakides Jams into Two Opponents

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Joining the action on the four-way flop of {10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{8-Hearts}, Serok Kilic bet 24,000 from the button and Miltiadis Kyriakides called in the small blind, so did Giovanni Mazza from a few seats over. The fourth player in the hand folded and the remaining three all checked the {8-Clubs} on the turn.

Kyriakides jammed for what looked like 100,000 on the {9-Spades} river and Mazza as well as Kilic folded.

Christian Stratmeyer
Christian Stratmeyer

Horst Riedlingen was all in for his last 25 big blinds with the {A-Spades}{9-Spades} and Christian Stratmeyer had him just about covered and went into the showdown with the {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}. The board ran out {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and the kings were cracked to leave the German short, he busted soon after.

Mazza Doubles Through Mothes

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Pierre Mothes had doubled up with aces against the kings of Michael Eiler and apparently had aces versus kings again according to table talk. Just now the German raised and was called by Giovanni Mazza, a late entrant before the start of Day 2. On the flop {3-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} a raising war breaks out and Mothes put his opponent all in for 59,400.

Mazza called with the {8-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and Mothes only had the {7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}. The {5-Spades} turn and {10-Hearts} river bricked and Mothes shipped over a portion of his profit.

Day 2 Late-Entrant Nandor Solyom Doubles

Level 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Nandor Solyom
Nandor Solyom

Due to receiving less than 20 big blinds to start the day, many of the players that bought into the Main Event right before the first cards were dealt of Day 2 are either quickly doubling their stacks or exiting the tournament. Romania's Nandor Solyom is one of those players to double his stack after losing some chips early.

Solyom was all in with top pair on a {3-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{x-} board holding {A-Hearts}{J-Spades}, and doubled up to 47,000 chips after Norman Thalwitzer turned over {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for top-pair with a lower kicker.

Zwad Busts to Urban

Level 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Finn Zwad started the day as one of the players above average but has been eliminated just prior to the end of the first level. Thomas Urban had won some chips off Zwad and got into a raising war with Zwad, calling a four-bet to 22,500. On a flop of {10-}{8-}{4-} with two spades, Zwad bet 18,500 and Urban raised to 40,000 before calling the shove of the German with a set of eights.

Zwad's kings were cracked and he found no help anymore.
