Langmann Joins the Field

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante

We now have three tables with six players each with Germany's Florian Langmann joining the field. Langmann is looking to add a gold ring to match his gold bracelet he won when shipping the $3,000 Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Lo (Event #54) during the 2014 World Series of Poker for $297,650.

Nicholson Eliminated

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante

He came, he saw, he busted Nicholson. Florian Langmann had just sat down and then pushed all in after the river of a {Q-Spades}{J-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{9-Spades} board. Nicholson, who started the hand with 21,000 chips, called off and mucked once Langmann showed {K-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} for the nut straight. As it was an all in showdown, the dealer turned over Nicholson's {Q-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{10-Spades}{4-Clubs} for the lower straight and Langmann received a nice add on at the very start.

Kabbaj Enters Competition

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante

Two-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner John Kabbaj has entered Day 1 and sits on a table with Claus Carlsen and Roman Cieslik. The Brit won his second career bracelet in Las Vegas last year by taking down the $ 2,500 Omaha/Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo (Event #25) for $ 267,327 and will be a likely candidate for one of the top spots in this events as well.

Not a Nice Welcome for Kabbaj

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante

On the {3-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{7-Hearts} flop, John Kabbaj bet 2,000 and then faced the raise to 9,700 by Dimitri Holdeew. The German, who had won the Eureka Prague Main Event in 2015 and then finished 15th in the European Poker Tour Main Event at the same venue straight after, received a call from Kabbaj and immediately fired the pot again after the {8-Diamonds} fell on the turn.

The pot was 22,500 and thus, Holdeew was at risk for his last 21,125 chips. Kabbaj eventually released his cards, though.

Double Stack for Sgorrano

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante

Miltiadis Kyriakides pushed the turn of a {K-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{5-Hearts} board to enforce a fold from Besim Hot with the Swiss mucking the {K-Clubs}{7-Hearts} for two pair. "Wow you fold that?" Kyriakides laughed and showed him the {Q-Hearts}{5-Clubs} for inferior two pair.

Over on the third table, the dealer announced a seat open and the cards were already rushed away while the chips are pushed to Jerome Sgorrano. The Belgian was involved in a five-way pot to a queen-high flop with two diamonds. One player bet 1,100 and just Sgorrano called before a {K-} hit on the turn. Sgorrano check-raised from 2,600 to 6,750 and was called before leading the {9-Spades} river for 6,500.

His opponent shoved for 22,000 and the Belgian tank-called with {A-}{K-Diamonds}{K-}{3-Diamonds} for top set, the other player was semi-bluffing with two pair.

Besim Hot
Besim Hot

Besim Hot has been eliminated. Five-ways to the flop {A-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}, Jesper Hougaard check-called a bet of 2,000 by Hot and all the other players in the hand folded. The {6-Clubs} turn saw a bet of 5,000 by Hot and a call by Hougaard before the Swiss announced all in blind. An {8-} on the river gave Hougaard the nuts with {J-Diamonds}{10-}{9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} and Hot's set of aces with the {A-Clubs} for the nut flush draw on the turn were no good anymore.
